Semi-retired NBA star Chris Bosh sued by his own mother

Share

There’s a new development in the sad saga of former NBA superstar Chris Bosh, who hasn’t played since 2016 due to blood clot issues.

The 34-year-old semi-retired star is reportedly being sued by his mother, Freida Bosh, who claims her son has gone back on his promise to make sure she is taken care of for the remainder of her life.

According to The Blast, which cited court documents, Freida Bosh alleges that Chris is trying to force her out of the house in Desoto, Texas, that he had promised she could live in.

She says her son directed her to sign papers in 2005 that she thought were related to her divorce from Noel, who is Chris’ father.

She believed the purpose of the papers was to sign Noel’s interest in the home over to her.

“However, she claims Chris misrepresented the documents she was signing and the documents actually transferred the property to Chris solely,” The Blast reported.

It wasn’t until August 2017, when she was contacted by her son’s lawyer, that Freida Bosh found out that she didn’t actually own the home.

According to the lawsuit, Chris has attempted to evict her from the home. As a result, his mother wants ownership of the house, as well as additional damages.

Her son, on the other hand, has denied all wrongdoing and thinks the case should be thrown out of court.

Do you think Freida Bush has a case here?

Interestingly enough, the house at the center of this lawsuit is the same home where Freida Bosh allegedly allowed drug dealers to operate, The Dallas Morning News reported.

The home was raided in December, and police apparently discovered a significant amount of drug paraphernalia.

Freida Bosh was arrested and later released after she posted bond.

That same month, Bosh denied to TMZ that she was involved in trafficking drugs.

However, she did speak of a rift that had developed between her and her son ever since they “built” the home together about 12 years ago. At the time of the interview, she said she hadn’t spoken to her son in five years.

Chris Bosh, for his part, hasn’t played professional basketball in roughly two years.

Still, though the 11-time All-Star was waived by the Heat last year, he’s indicated that he may one day return to the court.
