Steelers Star Pulled Over for Driving in Excess of 100 mph, Team 'Aware of the Situation'
It seems as though Le’Veon Bell’s holdout and open trolling of the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t the only thing the team has to worry about.
Ahead of the Steelers’ “Thursday Night Football” game against Carolina, star receiver Antonio Brown was pulled over for driving more than double the speed limit.
WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh reported that Brown was caught going over 100 mph in a 45 mph zone in Ross Township, Pennsylvania.
The police officer who pulled Brown over was looking for a possible suspect in a bank robbery in nearby McCandless Crossing when Brown’s Porsche sped by, the report said.
The officer then pursued Brown, who was cited for reckless driving.

A Steelers spokesman said the team knew about the incident.
“We are aware of the situation, but we are still gathering information,” Burt Lauten said in a statement. “We won’t have any further comment at this time.”
It’s been an up-and-down season Brown, who currently leads the NFL with nine receiving touchdowns.
In September, he tweeted, “Trade me let’s find out,” in response to a former Steelers staff member who was critical of his importance to the team.
That same month, the receiver had to apologize after threatening violence against a reporter.
Brown then followed that up by missing a team meeting, which resulted in internal discipline from the Steelers.
Just two weeks after that, he was then sued by the father of a toddler who said his son suffered emotional distress when the receiver threw furniture off a 14th-floor balcony. The incident happened near a pool at an apartment complex in Florida during the offseason. Surveillance footage showed multiple objects nearly striking the child.
It’s unknown whether this latest incident will affect Brown’s availability for the Thursday night game against the Panthers. He is expected to play but could be benched for a series or two for his gameday citation.
Pittsburgh and Carolina would both be playoff teams if the season ended now. The teams have faced off just six times in history, with the Steelers winning the last five matchups.
