Watch: Classy Tebow Shows How He Spends Free Time, Sets Sail on USS Carl Vinson for Veterans Day

It’s no secret that former NFL quarterback and current MLB prospect Tim Tebow is the personification of class.

There’s endless evidence to back up that claim.

Whether he’s making a late-night talk show appearance about a fan instead of himself, or spearheading a massive prom event for special needs children, Tebow clearly has his priorities straight.

Tebow’s priorities were again put on full display with how he chose to spend his free time in honor of Veterans Day.

Tebow spent his free time visiting service members aboard the USS Carl Vinson.

“When you’re charged carrying out your day-to-day activities here on the USS Carl Vinson, while also keeping eye on the big picture and any threats that may loom on the horizon, it helps to be even keeled, very level headed,” ESPN host Stan Verrett said to introduce the slickly produced video. “And then Tim Tebow shows up and everyone goes crazy.”

Considering the type of quality human being Tim Tebow has proven himself to be, it’s hard to blame anyone for geeking out a bit.

Verrett finished by noting that Tebow wanted to “shine the spotlight on some of the unsung heroes on the USS Carl Vinson.”

Will Tim Tebow eventually make it to the major leagues?

The excitement on the faces of the men and women on the ship was telling, and the energy, even from a YouTube video, was palpable. Everyone wanted a moment to take a quick picture with Tebow and everyone wore a giant smile on their faces as Tebow toured the ship.

“Navy shows you everyday the best things about sports,” Tebow said to a packed room full of sailors. “They’re tougher, they’re more resilient, they’re determined and they never quit.”

Tebow, showing a more affable side, joked around with many of the sailors, joking about their respective physiques and athleticism, as well as how great the chicken was on the ship.

The former Broncos quarterback then talked about — what else — sports with many of the sailors while they were eating.

“So, are you ever allowed … to play golf?” Tebow asked. “Are you ever allowed to tee off off the boat?”

“Absolutely not,” a sailor responded without missing a beat, eliciting a hearty laugh from Tebow.

Tebow then spent time learning some of intricacies that come with working on a Navy ship and the importance of teamwork and accuracy. He also found some time to sign a sailor’s head.

But perhaps the best part of Tebow’s visit came when he took a mic and addressed the crew outside.

“You are willing to sacrifice as much or more than anyone else,” Tebow said in an attempt to be uplifting. “You will be contagious …”

The sports star was then interrupted by an inaudible announcement over the deck’s speakers, much to the delight of everyone in attendance.

After showing video of Tebow getting a chance to steer the ship for a moment, they showed the rest of his speech to the deck, presumably after the public announcements, and it was exactly what you’d expect from Tebow.

“We all know that not many people show up every single day, truly loving what they’re doing, passionate, and willing to sacrifice,” Tebow said. “When you do those three things, it will be contagious, you will be unique, and people will want to be around you. God bless you and thank you for what you do.”

It was an awesome speech from a great person to an even greater group of people willing to sacrifice everything to protect this country.

But, at this point, why would you expect anything less from Tebow?
