Watch the incredible prayer Eagles players said on field after Super Bowl win

Share

By now it is well-known that the Philadelphia Eagles have built a strong sense of brotherhood in the locker room through their Christian faith.

The team was quick to give God the glory after their Super Bowl victory, with coach Doug Pederson, quarterback Nick Foles and a plethora of other players openly sharing their faith in postgame interviews.

Now, thanks to NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson, we can see a video of the post-Super Bowl prayer shared between the Eagles brothers.

Eagles left guard Stefen Wisniewski led the prayer.

“Let’s bow our heads,” Wisniewski said. “Our Father in Heaven, we want to lift your holy name high, Lord Jesus. You are our creator, you are our Savior. The only Savior, God, your Word says you are the way, the truth, and the life [John 14:6].

“God, we ask that what was seen on this field today will bring glory to you. You gave us the talent, you gave us the strength. This team had so many injuries, we had no business being here. But this 53 [referring to the number of players on the roster] plus God is the majority, this 53 plus God is undefeated. When God is for you, no one can be against you [Romans 8:31].

“God, thank you for being for us. Take all the glory. Your glory is forever and ever and ever. We praise you, God. This isn’t about us; let it be about you. Let us decrease that you may increase [John 3:30], Lord Jesus. We praise you and lift your holy name high.

“In the powerful, saving name of Jesus we say, Amen.”

What an awesome moment.

Despite being on the NFL’s biggest stage and winning it all, the players made it a point take time to thank their Lord and Savior.

It’s clear through Wisniewski’s prayer that Scripture has been a big part of the Eagles brotherhood this season.

The team had a season to remember both on the field and off, and faith played a huge role.

Quarterback Carson Wentz’s meeting with young Lukas Kusters was unforgettable. The boy, nicknamed the “Dutch Destroyer,” died of stomach cancer and was buried in a Wentz jersey. The quarterback later bought the family tickets to the Super Bowl.
