Supposed 'Takedown' File on Hegseth Revealed, Reads More Like List of Achievements He Should Get Medal For
A cabal of naysayers in the Department of War hopes to take down Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
The Daily Mail reported that it has insider information from officials working at the Pentagon who have been storing emails, taking notes, and saving memos from their time under Hegseth in hopes that Tuesday’s midterms will give them the opening to help members of Congress impeach him.
What could this information, compiled over the last 22 months, contain that will be a precision strike to the career of the former Fox News host turned Trump Cabinet member?
A summary of the information sounds like items for which Hegseth should get an award.
He and his closest allies would ignore the advice of “experts” in the legal field, withhold information insiders felt Congress and the public should know, and put the careers of officials in jeopardy if they challenged him or “struck him as too woke, fat, queer or disloyal,” as the Daily Mail put it.
That’s a presidential campaign pitch if there ever was one.
The American people do not want overweight, indoctrinated, un-American oddballs in the military.
“Experts” has become a euphemism for the loudest voices in the room, which are often wrong.
And with respect to withholding information — well, some things are classified for a reason.
The insiders claim to have more dirt on Hegseth, alleging his wife has played an inappropriate role in his current position.
The group began worrying about the consequences of a Hegseth Pentagon when mass firings took place last year, impacting high-ranking leaders of the Army, Navy, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and civilian workers.
Again, the American people expect the Trump administration to do some house cleaning. If Hegseth had left things as they were, that would be more alarming to the 77 million people who voted for his boss.
Further allegations include Hegseth trying to bring the War Department under a Christian nationalist vision and ignoring warnings about the futility of the Iranian conflict.
On and on it goes.
Despite the absurdity of the allegations, the only element of the report that should be taken seriously is what Democrats could do if Tuesday go their way.

Multiple members of the House, including Arizona Democratic Rep. Yassamin Ansari and Michigan Democratic Rep. Shri Thanedar, have introduced articles of impeachment in the past.
Ansari’s April articles — there are six — stemmed from the aforementioned conflict with Iran. Thanedar introduced two in December 2025 for murder and conspiracy to murder, as well as reckless and unlawful mishandling of classified information.
The new allegations are not blistering, but should Democrats gain a majority heading into 2027, it won’t matter.
We’ve learned this party will throw anything at the wall to see what sticks — and that means impeaching Hegseth over nonsense.
However, if anyone who believes the Daily Mail’s latest insider scoop is going to turn MAGA against Hegseth, they’re mistaken.
From the sound of it, he’s doing the job the president gave him.
