Bride, Groom and 70 Wedding Guests Pack Meals for Starving Children

Share

We’ve certainly seen our fair share of unique weddings over the years. From engagement announcements to destination nuptials, there’s no limit to how creative some couples get for their special day.

Chara Juneau and Adam Claude made their wedding day different when they decided to think outside of the traditional venue.

The pair met via the Twin Cities Christian Fellowship group on Facebook. Claude had been planning a meal-packing event for Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids at the time.

They hit it off, they started dating, and many more nights together at the non-profit followed. They bonded with hair nets on their heads and food for the hungry in their hands.

Dating turned to engagement, which led the couple to start discussing how they’d spend their special day. When a friend suggested the pair tie the knot at the FMSC facility, they laughed at first.

“After talking about it we thought how fitting,” Claude told FOX 9. “We met as a result of planning an event here, or a packing session here.”

But the event wouldn’t simply be held at the facility where’d they’d spent so much time helping others. Claude and Juneau wanted to take their reception to the next level.

Rather than sit down to a fancy dinner or dance the night away, the newlyweds, along with over 70 guests, packed enough meals to feed 60 children for an entire year.

“We wanted the day to mean something,” the compassionate bride told Star Tribune. It looks like her wish came true.

“Everyone does something that’s special to them or special to their family…” she shared with FOX 9. “It’s part of our relationship, so it just felt perfect to have it be exactly that.”

And so it was. What they did is truly an inspiration. If you’ve been inspired by this story to make a difference, visit FMSC’s website to find out how you can be that difference.

As for the new husband and wife, we wish them all the best as they venture into their life ahead. No doubt they’ll spend many more evenings packing food, side by side, and hand in hand.
