Camera Catches Moment Dad Confronts Alleged Pervert Taking Pictures up Daughter's Skirt

I often jest that I never want to have daughters, but stories like these make me think a little more seriously about my joke.

An inhumanly composed father caught a man apparently taking photos up the skirt of his 15-year-old daughter at a Target in Cypress, California.

Frankly, he should be commended for not committing murder.

The man was caught on a Target security camera in late July apparently squatting to nab upskirt shots while following around Ismael Duarte’s daughter.

“You messed with the wrong family,” Duarte told KTTV.

When Duarte got an idea what was going on, he kicked away the phone and pushed the suspect. Considering the circumstances, he showed tremendous restraint by not beating the suspect to a bloody pulp on the spot.

I’m not entirely sure I could’ve shown the restraint to not end up in jail. Duarte echoed those sentiments in further comments.

“I’m pissed off that I didn’t do more than I did, but I wish I would have, because I’m so angry,” he said.

Do you think Duarte should've done more?

What Duarte did do, however, was follow the man outside and get a picture of his license plate.

Police then arrested a 29-year-old man who was charged with a misdemeanor invasion of privacy, according to KCAL9. He won’t face more than a year of jail if convicted.

Police also received similar complaints about the same man from a Target in Cerritos.

Duarte also had some sharp criticisms of the Target security guards.

“All they did was stand behind, and that’s very disappointing,” said Duarte.

In a statement, Target said it was focused on customer safety.

“The safety and security of our guests is very important. We have no tolerance for this behavior in our stores… We will help law enforcement in any way,” the statement said.

Duarte was praised on Twitter for defending his daughter.

The world needs more fathers like Duarte.
