Another Democrat Rips Into Ocasio-Cortez, Wishes She'd Just 'Go Away'

Share

Bummer.

After espousing how much I loved Democratic New York congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for probably doing more harm to the far left than helping, it seems Democrats are catching onto the ruse.

It was just days ago that outgoing Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill expressed confusion about all of the hype surrounding Ocasio-Cortez.

“I’m a little confused why she’s the thing,” McCaskill told CNN. It truly has been a bizarre surprise for many politicians and pundits as to how, exactly, Ocasio-Cortez rocketed up to be one of the leftists’ favorite political figures.

“I’m not sure what she’s done yet to generate that kind of enthusiasm, but I wish her well,” McCaskill said. The outgoing senator also offered some pearls of wisdom to the 29-year-old Ocasio-Cortez.

“The rhetoric is cheap,” she said. “Getting results is a lot harder.”

But while McCaskill’s comments could stem from some form of bitterness — considering the timing of her ouster and Ocasio-Cortez’s rise — other Democratic figures are starting to echo her sentiments.

Joining McCaskill in her warnings of Ocasio-Cortez is Democrat Doug Schoen. The 65-year-old former Clinton adviser is a Fox News contributor and seemed painfully aware of the damage Ocasio-Cortez has wrought during her rapid ascent during an appearance on “The Five.”

Do you agree that Ocasio-Cortez needs to just be silent for a while?

Schoen hoped for Ocasio-Cortez to “just go away” before pleading with Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi to do something about the young socialist.

“I hope Nancy Pelosi gets to her and says she’d do better for herself to be silent for a while, because she is not the face or the voice of the Democratic Party that I grew up with, know and continue to support,” Schoen said.

Schoen also noted that “you have to be a moderate” in most of America, excluding the coastal elites. Schoen also noted that for Democrats to beat Trump, they needed moderates, not far-left socialists.

Schoen also pointed out that many of the House seats that Democrats flipped in typically red states in the 2018 midterms were done so thanks to moderate Democrats.

Unfortunately for Schoen, but fortunately for most conservatives and Republicans, it doesn’t seem like Ocasio-Cortez is going anywhere for the time being. Her self-destructive rhetoric and nonsense seems like it will stay in place for the time being.

But on a serious note, and I seldom ever do this, I have to agree with some of these Democrats. People like Schoen and McCaskill may be worried about Ocasio-Cortez’s rise because of what it represents for the Democratic party, but I worry about what she represents for America.

Say what you will about Ocasio-Cortez, but she certainly has an allure among far leftists. They love her with an unbridled passion. It’s positively cult-like, if I’m going to be brutally honest.

When a voice spewing idiotic nonsense about the need for socialism and “free” healthcare for all falls on as many ears as it does, those concepts begin to take actual root.

Republicans, Democrats and Americans with any semblance of sense should see that for the clear and present danger that it is.
