Crazed Woman Starts Smashing Up Bus, Rams Car into Defenseless Man Before Fleeing Police

There’s no form of transportation quite as sketchy as Greyhound. I had a friend who once travelled the country for a year aboard what he lovingly referred to as the “Dirty Dog,” and the stories he could tell would fill several volumes. For the most part, it was fun craziness — delays, unruly passengers, that sort of thing.

None of the madness he described to me, however, compares to what apparently happened to a Greyhound bus in Washington, D.C.

According to WTOP-TV in D.C., a 20-year-old woman is under arrest after attacking a Greyhound bus and then attempting to run over its defenseless driver.

“Dramatic video released by D.C. police shows a woman smashing the windows of a Greyhound bus with a car jack, and then ramming and attempting to run down the bus driver in an apparent act of road rage in Northeast D.C. on Thursday,” WTOP reported.

“Police arrested 20-year-old Mariana Silver, of Northeast D.C., on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon.

“Police said Silver tried to run down the bus driver with her Audi A8 with D.C. tags FV 9179.”

According to WTOP, the whole incident began when Silver decided to illegally pass the bus.

Traffic laws, alas, are there for a reason, and she allegedly ended up sideswiping another car. Guess who she ended up blaming for her ghastly driving? (Spoiler alert: not herself.)

Do you think this woman should be in prison?

“When the driver of that car tried to make contact with her at a red light, the woman ‘grew irate’ and broke out into a verbal argument, according to the police report.”

The bus driver decided to intervene on the part of sanity, allegedly telling Silver, “You’re a crazy driver, you need to get off the road.”

Sanity, alas, was not going to play any part in what happened Thursday.

After the bus driver made his foray into logic, Silver reportedly made a foray into violence. WTOP reported that “the woman retrieved a wooden baseball ball bat from the trunk of her car and began hitting the bus, cracking the windshield, police said.

“Then, she pulled out a silver car jack and began smashing the windows.”

The driver stepped out of the bus to call 911, which only made things more crazy.

In the video, the driver — allegedly Silver — can be seen ramming the defenseless bus driver repeatedly.

“At one point, he is thrown from the hood of her car and sent tumbling into the intersection. The police report said he suffered bruises and scratches on his left elbow and pains on the left side of his hip.”

Here’s the video, which we warn you is decidedly not safe for work. Viewer discretion is advised.

According to Heavy.com, the bus driver managed to complete his run, which is pretty amazing. Silver, meanwhile, was being held in “preventative detention” and with a “medical alert,” a sign that a mental break or illness of some sort is suspected.

There’s no word yet as to what charges Silver will face. However, it just goes to show we ought to remember that as weird as Greyhound travel can be sometimes, the occupants of an Audi A8 can be even worse.
