Cops Give Woman Brutal Reality Check After Fake Hate Crime

Share

Stories like these often remind me of the adage about the boy who cried wolf.

As reported by KOCO-TV, a 19-year-old woman was taken into custody after police claim that she completely fabricated a Trump-related hate crime.

And much like the boy who cried wolf, the woman, Adwoa Lewis, is doing far more harm to her cause than any good by making up these claims.

Lewis gave a written statement on Friday claiming that she was accosted on September 2 by four teenagers.

In her statement, Lewis claimed that the teenagers yelled “Trump 2016” at her and told her she didn’t belong here.

Something worth noting is that Lewis is a black woman.

Lewis also alleged that the four teenagers parked outside of her house, and that the next morning, she found her tires slashed with the note “Go home” written on it.

Now, just to clarify, had Lewis’ claims all been true, the alleged actions of the teenagers are completely and utterly indefensible. It would be an understatement to call those types of actions despicable.

But as we already knew, Lewis allegedly lied about the entire incident.

Do you think making up hate crimes is the right way to protest Trump?

The subsequent investigation from the police found that nothing about Lewis’ story was true.

In fact, when asked by police after the incident was reported, Lewis admitted that she wrote the note and placed it on her own car.

According to KSFN-TV, Lewis was officially charged with making a false punishable written statement and was released on an appearance ticket.

Justice was served, though not in the way that Lewis probably wanted.

It’s also a troubling glimpse into the mindset of the far-left when it comes to attacking Trump. Lewis’ ordeal is hardly an original one, as there seems to have been a rash of Trump-related “hate crimes” being reported since Trump took office.

For Trump supporters, however, this is actually surprisingly good news. Yes, false claims like these are a waste of police officers’ time and resources, but it also goes to show that most ardent Trump detractors are literally forced to fabricate stories to try and impugn Trump’s legacy. That’s literally all they have right now.

Just as importantly, however, is the disservice Lewis is doing to victims of actual hate crimes. It’d be naive to suggest that hate crimes no longer happen in 2018, as they certainly still occur, but it’s hard to give credence to those cries when there are more and more cries over a non-existent wolf seeping into the culture.

It’s a shame and it cannot be stressed enough how much Lewis’ actions are hurting people on all sides of the political spectrum.
