Here's Vince Vaughn's Extremely Blunt Interview on Guns

Share

Since 2015, Vince Vaughn has acted in and produced quite a few projects.

He played roles in movies such as “Term Life,” “Hacksaw Ridge,” “Dragged Across Concrete” and “Brawl in Cell Block 99.” He’s also going to be in upcoming films such as “Fighting With My Family,” “Against All Enemies” and “Arkansas.”

That’s not even mentioning his burgeoning career as a producer.

But I bring this all up because it’s nothing short of stunning that Vaughn still has work in Hollywood after a 2015 British GQ interview in which he trampled over one of the far left’s most sacred subjects: gun control.

At the time, Vaughn had just wowed audiences with his role in “True Detective,” which, to put it mildly, was a gritty and violent show.

Naturally, there was backlash from the types of leftists who feel that any law-abiding American who owns a gun should be criminalized.

Well, the “Wedding Crashers” and “Dodgeball” star took a blowtorch to that flimsy leftist narrative in a brutally blunt interview.

“I support people having a gun in public full stop, not just in your home,” Vaughn said when asked about gun ownership rights in America. “We don’t have the right to bear arms because of burglars; we have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government. It’s not about duck hunting; it’s about the ability of the individual.”

Just to disagree ever so slightly with Vaughn, it is about duck hunting. It’s also about everything else Vaughn mentioned throughout the interview as well.

Do you support the Second Amendment?

Leftists have an infuriating tactic where they lump all gun owners, regardless of the reason, as sociopaths. It doesn’t matter if you’re a family man trying to protect his family in a crime-riddled neighborhood or a hunter who has the potential to stop Lyme Disease. They’re both as bad as a mass school shooter, as far as most of the far left is concerned.

“It’s the same reason we have freedom of speech. It’s well known that the greatest defence against an intruder is the sound of a gun hammer being pulled back,” Vaughn continued. “All these gun shootings that have gone down in America since 1950, only one or maybe two have happened in non-gun-free zones.”

Vaughn then proceeded to take another parroted leftist talking point and slammed that as well.

“Take mass shootings. They’ve only happened in places that don’t allow guns. These people are sick in the head and are going to kill innocent people. They are looking to slaughter defenceless human beings. They do not want confrontation. In all of our schools it is illegal to have guns on campus, so again and again these guys go and shoot up these f—ing schools because they know there are no guns there. They are monsters killing six-year-olds.”

Oh, and President Donald Trump’s widely criticized and mocked idea of having good guys with guns in the school place? Vaughn beat him to that message by almost a year.

“Of course (guns should be allowed in schools). You think the politicians that run my country and your country don’t have guns in the schools their kids go to? They do,” Vaughn said. “And we should be allowed the same rights. Banning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat. Taking away guns, taking away drugs, the booze, it won’t rid the world of criminality.”

Considering how ridiculously anti-Second Amendment Hollywood has proven to be, it truly is surprising that Vaughn still finds as much work as he does.
