Watch: Man Stumps Dem Sen on Gun Control, So She Threatens To Take His Guns Away

For a party that seems to scream “Constitutional crisis!” at virtually every move President Donald Trump makes, Democrats sure love trampling upon the rule of law.

Earlier this month, elected officials in Illinois held a town hall meeting over whether or not to enact fines for individuals who keep commonly owned semi-automatic firearms in their homes.

The meeting quickly devolved with Democratic state Sen. Julie Morrison ultimately threatening a full-fledged firearm confiscation.

Initially, a local gun owner, obviously and justifiably unhappy with the idea, challenged the fines proposed by Illinois Senate Bill 107 — noting that its purpose was to “to take away semi-automatic firearms.”

Morrison responded, claiming that the legislation wasn’t about confiscating firearms, rather, it was meant to deter future sales of said firearms.

The man shot back that it was more than a simple sales deterrent, referencing the bill’s fines against those who already own semi-automatic firearms.

“You want me to turn them over to the state police unless I pay a fine for each firearm and register them, then I get to keep them,” he said.

Do you think Sen. Morrison was out of line with her comments?

The constituent continued and stumped Morrison in the process: “If I get to keep it — if I pay a fine and register it — then, how dangerous is it in the first place and why do you need to ban it all?”

Talk about a mic drop moment.

Check out the heated exchange between the two in the video below.

Instead of Morrison simply cutting her losses and moving on, she doubled-down in an utterly tyrannical tirade.

“Well, you just maybe changed my mind,” she said. “Maybe we won’t have a fine at all, maybe it’ll just be a confiscation and we won’t have to worry about paying the fine.”

Unfortunately, this is the world we now live in. When the sitting state politician was publicly humiliated by the gaping holes in her proposed legislation, she threw a momentary hissy-fit and threatened the Constitutional rights of an American voter.

She would fit in perfectly in Washington D.C., wouldn’t she?

Let’s be honest, the Second Amendment exists as a defense against politicians like Morrison who might really desire to take those extreme measures and trample on the rights of American gun owners.

Thank goodness our Founding Fathers had a little experience in the matter and made sure future generations wouldn’t be victims.

NRATV’s Cam Edwards said that the back-and-forth was only a small part of the larger fight against the many gun-grabs that have been pushed by Illinois Democrats.

“It’s been interesting to see this push-back in Illinois,” Edwards said, according to Breitbart. “Obviously, over the last few years we’ve seen a lot of counties outside of the Chicago-land area have been very vocal in pushing back. But I’ve got to tell you, I’ve been really impressed by the number of gun owners in northern Illinois… who have been speaking out.”

While these radical left-wing Illinois politicians focus on pushing tighter gun control measures — that only remove guns from the hands of law-abiding citizens — bad guys with guns in cities like Chicago continue their killing rampage.

They’re truly focusing on the wrong issues.

Gun owners must continue to speak out and defend the Second Amendment, as there are many more politicians like Morrison holding office who relish the day they’re able to pass any type of bill that restricts or eliminates the rights of American gun owners.
