WH Senior Adviser Blasts Leftists over Death of 7-Year-Old, Details Exactly Why We Need a Border Wall

The liberal media turned their outrage dial back up to 11 this past week following reports of a 7-year-old Guatemalan girl who died from severe dehydration hours after being taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol agents.

The obvious implication from the media was that the Border Patrol agents — and by extension, President Donald Trump’s administration — were solely responsible for the girl’s death, despite the fact that the girl hadn’t had any food or any water for several days prior to being picked up by the agents after illegally entering New Mexico with her father amid a large group of illegal entrants.

Border Patrol agents reportedly made every attempt to save the girl’s life, including airlifting her to a children’s hospital in Texas for emergency care.

The girl’s death, and ultimately who should receive the blame for that death, was a topic of discussion Sunday morning on CBS’s “Face The Nation” with host Margaret Brennan and guest Stephen Miller, a senior White House policy adviser.

“Our hearts break for the tragic death of the 7-year-old girl. The loss of that precious life is … horrifying,” Miller said. “It is a painful reminder of the ongoing humanitarian tragedy that is illegal immigration, and the misery that it spreads.”

“A ‘coyote’ dropped off 163 migrants in an extremely remote section of New Mexico. Those individuals were found by Border Patrol who, in many cases, act as first responders. In fact, Border Patrol agents save about 4,000 lives every single year,” he continued. “Unfortunately, hundreds die on the dangerous trek up.”

“Smuggling organizations profit off death and misery. They are vicious, vile organizations, and it’s time that both parties had the appropriate level of outrage over the fact that these organizations continue to take advantage,” he said, prior to being cut off by Brennan.

She asked if Border Patrol agents were “adequately equipped” to handle the number of migrant families attempting to cross the border illegally.

“One of the great tragedies that is going on in our country today is the loopholes in our immigration laws and deficiencies in our immigration laws — and left-wing activist judicial rulings — that incentivize the most vulnerable populations to come to our country,” Miller replied.

Do you think that illegal immigration has been encouraged by the left?

“Last year 100,000 unaccompanied alien children, or children traveling with adults, showed up at our southern border,” Miller said. “President Trump took dramatic action, issued an executive order directing illegal traffic to the ports of entry. But a left-wing activist judge issued a reckless nationwide injunction on the president’s order, putting thousands of lives at risk and further enriching these grotesque, heinous smuggling organizations.”

In light of the limited time left in the segment, Brennan then shifted gears, asking directly if Trump planned to proceed with a shutdown if he didn’t receive the $5 billion he has requested.

“We are going to do whatever is necessary to build the border wall, to stop this ongoing crisis of illegal immigration,” he replied. Asked if that meant a shutdown, Miller said, “If it comes to it, absolutely.”

“This is a very fundamental issue. At stake is the question of whether or not the United States remains a sovereign country, whether or not we can establish and enforce rules for entrance into our country,” he continued. “The Democrat Party has a simple choice: They can either choose to fight for America’s working class, or to promote illegal immigration. You can’t do both.”

Brennan asked if there was “wiggle room” on the $5 billion request, but Miller said he wasn’t there to negotiate details. Instead, he said that if Democrats preferred to continue enriching smuggling operations that spread misery and kill people with illegal drugs, that was their prerogative.

Pressed as to whether there would be a shutdown, Miller replied, “As you yourself acknowledged, the largest increases in illegal immigration are categories that are incentivized by loopholes in our laws, and loopholes created by activist, left-wing judges … and the categories that correspond with these loopholes, and the interventions — reckless, lawless interventions of district court judges — and this president has taken historic action to stem the tide of illegal immigration and fight for working people in this country.”

Though Brennan obviously didn’t want to hear it, Miller was on point as to exactly why a border wall is so necessary — to counter the open-border efforts by Democrats and leftist judges that undermine our nation’s immigration laws and incentivize migrants to make the dangerous, and sometimes deadly, journey across our nation’s southern border.
