Watch: Giant Man Picks Up Kicking, Screaming Woman and Simply Carries Her Away in Daylight Kidnapping Attempt

A “monster” was taking his victim away, but a 77-year-old woman helped lead the charge to save her as an attempted kidnapping was foiled in Honolulu’s Diamond Head neighborhood.

The incident took place shortly after 10 a.m. on Oct. 26 as a 24-year-old woman and a 77-year-old woman were in a parking garage, according to KITV.

As the women were walking, a massive man stalked them from behind, as shown in a video posted to X.

After some words, the man tried to grab the younger woman, who dodged him and tried to flee.

The man caught up with her, picked her up, and carried her kicking and screaming toward his vehicle.

The older woman got the attention of bystanders, which led to the woman being freed.

“I was yelling, ‘Help! Help!’ and she was yelling, too. She was saying, ‘You don’t want to do this. Don’t do this,’” the older woman said, according to the Daily Mail.

“He looked like a monster. He just had so much hatred and craziness in his eyes,” she said.

Residents of the condominium complex where the incident took place responded.

“I yelled at him, ‘Let her go. I’ve called the police. I’m coming down there after you,’” Mike Finkelstein said.

Beverly Louis said she saw “a man bear hugging a woman and dragging her to the back of his truck.”

“And I heard neighbors screaming, so I just started screaming, ‘Drop her! Drop her! Drop her!’ And she was screaming for her life. She was terrified,” she said.

As noted by KITV, a witness took a photo of the truck to help police catch the suspect, who drove off.

But 23-year-old Diesel Kawelo made it easy for them.

About three hours after the incident, he was arrested while running naked down a street.

Kawelo was indicted for kidnapping and harassment, a Honolulu prosecutor said Friday, according to KHON-TV.

Kidnapping is a class A felony and harassment is a petty misdemeanor. A conviction could mean up to 20 years in prison.
