Charlie's Legacy: Ex-Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy Has 'Surrendered' to Jesus, Says Kirk's Death Immediately Drove Her to Start Studying the Bible
Christians need to prioritize the sharing of stories like this one.
After all, the endless darkness that fills each news cycle has no importance compared to a single soul finding Jesus.
In a recent interview posted to YouTube, former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy said that she “completely surrendered” to Jesus and “started Bible study immediately” following the Sept. 10 assassination of conservative Christian icon Charlie Kirk.
McCarthy made those comments last month on the “Culture Apothecary” podcast with host Alex Clark.
After spending more than an hour discussing McCarthy’s years-long anti-vaccine activism and support for Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Make America Healthy Again movement, Clark asked the 53-year-old actress and 1994 Playboy “Playmate of the Year” about her reaction to Kirk’s murder.
McCarthy immediately put her hand up in a universal signal that she might soon start crying.
Through tears, she proceeded to bemoan the fact that the people who hated Kirk inhabit a different reality. They received only one narrative about him, she said, and they believed it.
Then, she said that she could personally relate to the difficulties he faced as he tried to do good.
“And when he was shot,” she recalled, her voice cracking as the tears freely flowed, and taking several moments to compose herself, “I prayed and prayed and prayed, and then I was calling like every doctor I possibly could saying, ‘Tell me this wound is something that could be healed.’”
McCarthy then described Kirk’s murder as “a dark day” and “still a dark time I think for so many people.”
To help herself stop crying, the actress then insisted on talking about “the good.”
“Look at the mass awakening,” McCarthy said of the Christian revival that followed the assassination. “Look at how many people came closer to God, even including myself.”
Clark asked her to elaborate.
McCarthy explained that she was “raised Catholic” and had a “deep relationship with God.”
“Some people have to work really hard to hear Him,” she added. “I’ve got a direct line. I mean, Jesus is my homie.”
But Kirk’s murder brought something new to that relationship.
“When he passed, I completely surrendered,” McCarthy continued. “I am so devoted. I mean, I started Bible study immediately.”
Moments later, McCarthy even described Kirk as a willing martyr who understood his sacrifice.
Readers may watch McCarthy’s emotional testimony in the YouTube video below. The relevant segment begins around the 1:03:45 mark.
No doubt, many understand exactly how McCarthy felt after Kirk’s assassination and during that interview.
Moreover, the leftists who openly celebrated Kirk’s death revealed a darkness many of us had never seen.
Nonetheless, by far the best response to the assassination — on the day of the murder or in the four months since — came from veteran sports commentator Jason Whitlock.
“Dear Heavenly Father,” Whitlock wrote on the social media platform X, “forgive me for any role I played in creating this sick demonic world. I surrender. I pray this in the mighty and magnificent name of Jesus Christ.”
Christ or Chaos.
Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for any role I played in creating this sick demonic world. I surrender. I pray this in the mighty and magnificent name of Jesus Christ.

Whitlock and McCarthy surrendered to Jesus. I must continually do the same. If that is Kirk’s legacy, there could not be a better one.
