2020 Dems in Michael Scott Quotes is the Best Video You'll See All Day

Anybody who has ever watched the hit comedy TV show “The Office” knows that the boss, Michael Scott, played by actor Steve Carell, is a quirky character with loads of odd idiosyncrasies and habits.

As it turns out, many of Scott’s traits can be viewed as parallels to many of the Democrats who currently make up the ever-expanding field of candidates for the Democratic Party’s 2020 presidential nomination, as was just revealed in a “SUPERcuts!” compilation of clips from the show by the Washington Free Beacon.

In each clip, the name of the specific candidate who best matches Scott’s particular behavior or commentary at that moment is notated at a top corner of the screen.

The compilation video begins with Scott giving an unsolicited hug and kiss on the cheek to an uncomfortable employee, which naturally parallels former Vice President Joe Biden’s tendency to become somewhat touchy-feely with women and girls during photo opportunities.

Next, with the name of California Sen. Kamala Harris on the screen, Scott locks his employees in a room and shouts, “If you think prison is so wonderful, then enjoy prison,” an obvious reference to Harris’ time as California’s attorney general, during which she sent many people to prison.

Following that was Scott talking about the movie “Spartacus,” an obvious reference to New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker’s laughable “Spartacus moment,” which was in turn followed by a clip of Scott having no problem with pornography displayed on an office computer, a reference to Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper’s admission during a CNN town hall that he had taken his mother to see a pornographic movie.

After that was a not-so-subtle allusion to homosexuality, in reference to the openly gay mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg. The reference transitioned into a clip of Scott making an anti-war remark that aligns with the generally anti-war stance of Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

Hands down, one of the funniest clips was that of Scott as he explained his mixed ancestral heritage as being “part English, Irish, German and Scottish, sort of a virtual United Nations. But what some of you might not know is I am also part Native American Indian.” When asked how much, Scott replied, “Two-fifteenths,” which obviously was in reference to Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s dubious claims of Native American ancestry.

With regard to former Texas Rep. Robert “Beto” O’Rourke’s optimistic view of himself and his DUI arrest when he was younger, there was a clip of Scott as he said, “I have flaws. What are they? I don’t know, I sing in the shower. Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally, I’ll hit somebody with my car.”

Next was a scene in which Scott delivered a spanking to one of his employees for not acting professionally or following his instructions, a reference to reports that Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar is a tough and mean boss who mistreated some of her staffers.

Are you unimpressed by the Democratic candidates for 2020?

There was a reference to Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s incessant focus on climate change, as well as former Obama Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro’s insistence on speaking Spanish.

Following that was a scene of Scott demanding “respect” and then ordering everyone into the conference room for a “women’s appreciation” meeting, which was in reference to New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s focus on women’s issues and the #MeToo movement.

However, the best clip was arguably saved for last and devoted to “Free college for all” Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Scott, showing hand-drawn cards he had received from children, said, “I made them a promise and told them that if they graduated from high school, I would pay for their college education. I’ve made some empty promises in my life, but hands down, that was the most generous.”
