63-Year-Old Store Owner Being Called 'Nothing Short of a Hero' for Taking Down Would-Be Robber

Share

A 63-year-old woman was held at gunpoint in her convenience store, but she heroically defended herself and took down the would-be robber.

On Jan. 23 around 4:30 p.m., the unnamed woman from Cincinnati, Ohio, was working at the Glenway Pony Keg on Glenway Avenue when 48-year-old James Douglas came into the store and pointed a gun at her head, demanding money.

Fortunately, the woman was armed with a gun of her own and was able to fight back, ultimately shooting and killing the suspect, according to local WCPO-TV.

There’s a significant power difference between the typical 48-year-old man and 63-year-old woman. Having a gun is the ultimate equalizer, especially for those who would otherwise be defenseless.

And the woman didn’t just protect her own life and property — she also protected the lives of any other people that may have been inside the shop.

Everybody in the store would have been at the mercy of an armed robber if the woman wasn’t a gun owner.

“She’s nothing short of a hero,” police Capt. Paul Broxterman said.

This is just the latest example of someone using a gun to protect their life and property.

In November, a brave mother in South Carolina used a gun to protect her three children against a potential home intruder.

The man kicked down her door before she pulled the trigger and sent the intruder running away.

Earlier this month, a 25-year-old woman from Chicago, Illinois, defended herself from a 19-year-old armed robber.

The woman shot and killed the robber, but some liberals seemed to take the robber’s side.

“Conservatives are thrilled a woman with a concealed-carry permit shot and killed a 19-year-old would-be mugger. That’s not how justice works. The penalty for theft is not death, nor do we want it to be,” ThinkProgress editor Zack Ford said.

Do guns keep people safe?

Thankfully, there haven’t been any liberals condemning the 63-year-old convenience store owner yet, but that could be because the story is underreported.

The left-wing establishment media probably won’t cover this story because it would disrupt their anti-gun narrative.

Liberals like to bash guns, but the reality is that guns keep people safe.
