Booker Makes Shock Kavanaugh Admission, Abandons Due Process in Bizarre Rant
Even before Judge Brett Kavanaugh was named as a nominee to the Supreme Court, a number of elected Democrats and liberal activist groups made it abundantly clear that they would oppose him, again, even before he was named as the nominee.
Democrats used just about every tool at their disposal to try and upend and derail his nomination throughout the Senate’s constitutional advice and consent process, but Kavanaugh managed to survive their low tactics and appeared to emerge from his confirmation hearings on the verge of a successful confirmation vote.
Then Kavanaugh was hit with what can only be described as a last-minute and coordinated smear campaign that dredged up uncorroborated allegations of sexual misconduct dating back decades, prompting Democrats to demand an FBI investigation — which is now underway and which Democrats now assert won’t prove sufficient, in their view.
All of that to say this — Democrats have been opposed to Kavanaugh’s nomination from the very start. It doesn’t matter what is said about him or what he says in response, they will remain opposed to him, as was just revealed in remarks to the media by New Jersey Sen. Cory “Spartacus” Booker.

In an astonishingly hypocritical diatribe, Booker essentially declared that it didn’t really matter to him whether Kavanaugh was guilty or innocent of the allegations posed against him — he still viewed the nominee as unworthy of a seat on the Supreme Court bench.
“So my hope is that, beyond the vicious partisan rancor that is going on, beyond the accusations, we don’t lose sight of this moral moment is about in this country,” said Booker, apparently oblivious to his own party’s role in the “vicious partisan rancor” he now claims to want to move beyond.
“And ultimately ask ourselves the question: Is this the right person to sit on the highest court in the land for a lifetime appointment,” he continued. “When their credibility has been challenged by intimates, people that knew the candidate well as a classmate, when his temperament has been revealed in an emotional moment, where he used language that, frankly, shocked a lot of us.”
Well, senator, the credibility of Kavanaugh’s accusers, you and your Democrat colleagues — as well as your media allies — has also been similarly challenged, and the temperament and language used by you and your colleagues was no better than Kavanaugh’s justified anger in pushing back against slanderous smears to his reputation.
Booker wasn’t finished yet, and soon displayed the truth of the matter — that Kavanaugh’s guilt or innocence had no bearing whatsoever on whether he would support the nominee or not, proving this whole charade has been nothing more than a delay tactic to keep him off the court and ruin his life and career in the process.
“And then ultimately, not whether he is innocent or guilty — this is not a trial — but ultimately, have enough questions been raised that we should not move on to another candidate, in that long list put together by the Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society, move on to another candidate,” said Booker, proving the goal is merely to render Kavanaugh toxic so moderate Republicans won’t vote for him and he’ll be forced to withdraw his nomination.
“Because ultimately the Supreme Court is not an entitlement, just because you went to Yale or were president of your class doesn’t entitle you to the Supreme Court,” he continued, apparently forgetting how so many Democrats insisted that Judge Merrick Garland was “entitled” to the Supreme Court position he was nominated for in 2016 by former President Barack Obama.
Democrats pitched a fit when Republicans — citing an old precedent set by former Sen. Joe Biden — decided to keep the seat open through the election year. It was eventually filled by Justice Neil Gorsuch, who was nominated in 2017 by President Donald Trump.
Booker continued: “This is a sacred institution, and the people that should be on it — whether you disagree with their political or judicial philosophy at all — the people who should be on the Supreme Court should preserve the integrity of the court and be beyond the reproach of these difficult partisan times.”
Considering Booker’s own role in the current “difficult partisan times,” not to mention the damage already done by Democrats to the “integrity” of the “sacred institution” that is the Supreme Court via their highly politicized smear campaign against an eminently qualified nominee, Booker has absolutely zero room to talk.
This hypocritical nonsense from Booker can be summarily dismissed as utterly unserious — much like his potential 2020 presidential run will be — except in that he just revealed that he and his colleagues could care less about due process, the presumption of innocence or the typical qualifications the Senate used to consider for Supreme Court nominees.
Instead, Democrats like Booker have decided that Trump’s nominees must be opposed and defeated at all costs, no matter what or who is destroyed in the process, such as the reputations of innocent people or longstanding traditions that serve as a bulwark of our society.
