Flashback: Colbert Gets Smug Smile Wiped Off His Face on Election Night
As we all remember, Hollywood elitists and leftists in the media essentially lost their minds when Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election.
One of those epic meltdowns came from late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert.
Trump supporters will remember will glee the utter horror on Colbert’s face when he realized Hillary Clinton was going to lose.
On election night, Colbert hosted a live special on Showtime, titled, “Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going To Clean Up This S—?”
Colbert began the election night show giddy and full of smiles.
As seen in a clip of the show uploaded to YouTube, Colbert was asked by an audience member what he would ask Trump if he ever appeared on the show.
Colbert, who said the show wasn’t being broadcasted yet, revealed just how intolerant of a liberal he really is with his answer.
“What does Vladimir Putin’s c**k taste like,” Colbert replied.
But around the 55 second mark, Colbert was joined on set by MSNBC political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin — and the devastation began to sink in rather quickly.
After it was announced that he had won the state of Florida, the panel said Trump was the favorite to win the election.
“He is now on the doorstep of 270 electoral votes,” Halperin said.
“Wow,” Colbert responded. “That’s a horrifying prospect.”
Colbert was so stunned by the prospect of Trump winning the election he struggled to form a coherent sentence.
“I can’t put — I cannot put a — I can’t put a happy face on that. And that is my job,” Colbert said.
Around the 3:15 minute mark, Halperin melodramatically said Trump winning the election would be the most “cataclysmic event” to ever happen in the United States since the “Civil War, World War II, and 9/11.”
Major wars and a deadly terrorist attack that killed thousands of people is now comparable to Trump becoming the duly elected president of the U.S., according to these out-of-touch leftists.
Absolutely pathetic.
