[RETRACTED] Previously Deported Illegal Rapes Child After Sanctuary City Releases Him from Prison

Share

RETRACTION, Mar. 2, 2019: This article was first published under the headline, “Dems Have Blood on Their Hands: Illegal Rapes Child After Sanctuary City Releases Him From Prison.” The phrase “blood on their hands” indicated that city leaders were responsible for someone’s death. It also implied that Juan Ramon-Vasquez, who has been convicted of both rape and illegal re-entry into the U.S., was guilty of murder. Though we have no wish to diminish the heinousness of the crimes of which Ramon-Vasquez was found guilty, neither do we wish to imply that he is guilty of anything further.

In addition, the phrasing in the early part of this article implied that the repeated rapes Ramon-Vasquez committed had occurred recently. They appear to have been committed in 2014 or 2015.

Finally, the administration of the current mayor of Philadelphia was tacitly blamed for the release of Ramon-Vasquez, when in fact it was the administration of the former mayor that was responsible for it.

We apologize to Juan Ramon-Vasquez, the Democratic leadership of Philadelphia, Mayor Jim Kenney, and our readers for the inaccuracies in this article. Given how pervasive those inaccuracies were, The Western Journal decided to retract the article rather than correct it.
