GOP Senator Wrecks Protesters to Their Face for Using Their Kids as 'Tools'

Share

Another video was released showing Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy firing back at annoying left-wing protesters.

Last week, Cassidy schooled a protester who was following him through a Senate building, and it looks like he is at it again.

The new video, shared by Benny Johnson of The Daily Caller, shows Cassidy casually walking through a Senate office building when he was suddenly challenged by a left-wing protester with her seemingly extremely bored children.

“Senator Cassidy, could you please apologize to my children for ruining their futures?” the protester asked.

Cassidy immediately assured the children that their future is going to be fine.

“I know your parents are using you as tools, but if in the future, if somebody makes an allegation against you, and there’s no proof for it, you will be OK,” Cassidy said before walking off.

It’s great that Cassidy put this parent in her place. There is no reason those children should have to spend their afternoon harassing senators about political issues that are way over their head.

The kids should be out playing and not being told by their mother that their futures are ruined because Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed.

Do you like the way the senator handled this situation?

After Cassidy’s remarks, the mother probably realized that she looked really bad using her children as political props.

“We’re not using them as tools! We’re not using them as tools!” she blurted out.

The Daily Caller identified the protester as Alethea Torrellas Shapiro and noted she has been quite open about using her children for political purposes on social media.

Her Facebook profile picture is a photo of her with the children holding signs saying, “Why Do You Hate My Sisters?” and “How Could You Do This To My Generation?” The boys in the photo are wearing T-shirts that read, “I am a feminist too.”

On Monday, Shapiro made a now-deleted Facebook post detailing her plan to use the children in her protest, The Daily Caller reported.

“Tomorrow I plan on birddogging in the Senate hallways and basement with all 4 of my kids (my daughters are 12,10) and my boys are (5,3),” she wrote.

It’s sickening that she would use a child as young as 3 as a prop for her protest.

“I went (sic) these horrible atrocious men to see the faces of the future that they are ruining,” she added, according to The Daily Caller.

The only “horrible” and “atrocious” thing in this situation is Shapiro’s willingness to use her children as political pawns.

Protesters are usually annoying and bad-mannered, but using kids crosses the line. Kudos to Cassidy for calling her out.
