Kavanaugh Ushers In 12 Special Guests to Hearing, Shows Exactly What Kind of Man He Really Is

Share

As Brett Kavanaugh auditioned to become Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh, 12 young women who know him simply as “Coach K” got a front-row seat to his Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

According to CBS News, members of his daughter’s basketball teams that Kavanaugh coaches were all in attendance on day three of the confirmation hearings.

“It’s awesome to have them all here,” Kavanaugh said as he introduced them all to the room.

“They are tough as nails.”

As BizPac Review noted, Kavanaugh’s daughters — Liza, 10, and Margaret, 13 — had also showed up on the first day of confirmation hearings, but were rushed out after constant disruptions by protesters.

Those disruptions were apparently engineered by Senate Democrats, who plotted when they should take place.

Nice work.

Do you think Brett Kavanaugh should be confirmed?

Kavanaugh’s basketball teams played a major role during his nomination announcement, too, when he pulled out one of the more adorable dad jokes we’ve heard in a while.

“I have tried to create bonds with my daughters like my dad created with me,” Kavanaugh said.

“For the past seven years, I have coached my daughters’ basketball teams. The girls on the team call me Coach K.”

The reference, of course, was to Duke University men’s basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, who’s better known as “Coach K.” Krzyzewski is likely more adept at the coaching thing, although Trump didn’t consider him for a Supreme Court role.

Kavanaugh is a major sports fan in addition to a dad jokes fan; his decision to talk sports with his local bartender (who didn’t know he was a potential Supreme Court pick) played a role in a very weird Washington Post article where this somehow qualified him as an elitist.

His decision to buy Washington Nationals season tickets on his credit card and then be reimbursed by other friends who shared in the plan also became a controversy, because apparently everything becomes a controversy when Kavanaugh is involved.

If the young ladies stayed for the entire hearing, they witnessed one of the more unintentionally comic moments of the whole Judiciary Committee hearings, Cory Booker’s “Spartacus moment.”

So, not only did they get to witness a hearing, they also got to witness a moment we’ll all remember — if just for the wrong reasons. Pretty cool, I’d say.
