Leftists Target Kavanaugh's 10-Year-Old Daughter in Disturbing Attack

Share

In the latest example that the far-left has no scruples, a disgusting cartoon from Illinois Times’ cartoonist Chris Britt took aim at Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Pardon me. I meant Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s 10-year-old daughter.

Children should always be off limits when it comes to politics. I don’t care if it’s Barack Obama’s children or Donald Trump’s children. Kids have no place on the political battleground.

Cartoonist Chris Britt clearly doesn’t feel that way.

Before this goes further, it’s worth pointing out that the newspaper named in the tweet, the Illinois Times, published a Facebook post stating Britt is not an actual employee of the newspaper, though he is a contributor. It also stated that the cartoon “did not appear in our publication or on our website. The Illinois Times name should not have appeared on the cartoon and we’ve asked Chris Britt to remove it.”

So the cartoonist is already feeling an impact.

I’ve defended plenty of political cartoons before, regardless of whether they’re skewering Democrats or Republicans. But those cartoons typically try to get across some sort of political message in a biting illustration.

Britt’s cartoon literally serves no purpose other than to attack Kavanaugh through his daughter.

Are you surprised an editorial cartoonist would go this far?

“Dear God, forgive my angry, lying alcoholic father for sexually assaulting Dr. Ford,” the cartoon speech bubble above Kavanaugh’s daughter reads.

That is disgusting and reprehensible. The cartoon cannot be condemned harshly enough.

There is no wittiness. There is no meaningful hidden message. There is nothing being added to political discourse.

This is an attack on Kavanaugh’s 10-year-old daughter, full stop. It serves no other purpose other than to demean a 10-year-old girl and her father.

As Twitter user @vbspurs points out, this isn’t the first time liberals have stooped so low to attack a Republican’s child.

That second cartoon, which first appeared during the Republican presidential primary campaign, depicts Sen. Ted Cruz parading his daughters as show monkeys. Again, it’s just another flagrant dereliction of human decency.

The unhinged nature of these attacks puts a spotlight on just how desperate the far-left is becoming in their quest to derail anything Trump-related.

If there’s one silver lining to this lunacy from the left, it’s that more often than not, that lunacy blows up spectacularly in their faces.

The left has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Trump. They’ve used misleading quotes, a porn actress, a creepy porn lawyer, unproven claims about Russian collusion, unproven claims about racism and unproven claims about tax cuts all as means to attack Trump.

Absolutely none of that has stuck.

But at least all of those aforementioned attacks have some basis in politics. If any of the umpteen accusations against Trump were true, then yes, he should face consequences.

The only implication Britt seems to be making in his cartoon is that Kavanaugh’s daughters live in fear of their “lying, alcoholic father.” It’s pathetic.

A cursory glance at Britt’s Creators.com page shows that he’s willing to go to any lengths to attack Kavanaugh, with no regards to fairness or decency.

In that sense, Britt deserves some modicum of credit. He’s become the perfect microcosm of everything that’s wrong with the Democratic Party in 2018.
