'Not Anti-Semitic' Dems Just Had Anti-Semite Imam Deliver Opening Prayer to Congress
Even though the most famous anti-Semite in all of America may be amid their caucus, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insists that the Democrats in her ranks are not anti-Semitic.
“We have no taint of that [anti-Semitism],” Pelosi said after one of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s self-induced misfortunes. “I don’t think the congresswoman is anti-Semitic. I wouldn’t even put those in the same category.”
So no anti-Semitism in Rep. Omar. No anti-Semitism among her own caucus, a caucus where some members have been and remain quite friendly in the past with noxious Jew-baiter Louis Farrakhan. Nothing to see there.
Certainly nothing like an Israel-bashing imam coming in to give the opening prayer in the House of Representatives. Nope. Nothing like that.
And by nothing like that I mean of course something exactly like that because we wouldn’t be writing about it otherwise.
On May 9, Imam Omar Suleiman, a popular Texas-based cleric, gave the invocation before the lower house of Congress.
He was invited by Democrat Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson of the Lone Star State. It was, by all accounts, a perfectly suitable invocation — moving, well-written and chock full of moral virtue.
Here’s good-cop Imam Suleiman:
“Guide us to pure convictions,” Suleiman said. “Then inspire us the courage to match those convictions.
“We pray for peace, not war. Love not hate. Benevolence, not greed. Unity, not division. And we commit ourselves to not betraying our prayers with actions that contradict them. Let us be for truth, no matter who, or for is against it.”
That, again, is good-cop Imam Suleiman. Here’s bad-cop Imam Suleiman — who likes to refer to Israel as the “51st state,” according to the Jerusalem Post — openly hoping for the “3rd Intifada” to break out in Israel:
“How befitting that the 3rd Intifada starts on the 27th night of Ramadan as worshippers are denied prayer in Masjid Al Aqsa,” Suleiman wrote back in 2014. “The march throughout Palestine is growing and all of the families in East Jerusalem are in the streets.”
“Meanwhile Apartheid Israel is using live ammunition on the crowds. The downfall of the Apartheid regime of South Africa started this way (See Sharpeville Massacre) and God willing on this blessed night as the 3rd Intifada begins, the beginning of the end of Zionism is here.”
“May Allah help us overcome this monster, protect the innocent of the world, and accept the murdered as martyrs. ameen.”
Apparently, “We pray for peace, not war, except when that war is the third Intifada and it might help the Palestinians overcome the monster of apartheid Israel. Amen,” just didn’t sound right being spoken before Congress.
Meanwhile, here was his reaction to the Trump administration’s decision to move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem: “Your recognition means nothing to us,” he said during a 2017 rally. “Your maps mean nothing to us, your embassy is as illegitimate as the occupation it seeks to legitimize. Our land is our land, our dignity is our dignity.
“Our determination is our determination. Our boycott is our boycott. Our Aqsa [the holy mosque in Jerusalem] is our Aqsa. Our Palestine is our Palestine.”
He also supports the generally anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, which seeks to treat Israel as if it were an apartheid state like South Africa, and wrote how happy he was that “newly-elected congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib openly express their support for BDS and Palestinian rights.”
“I can’t stress to you enough how essential it is to invest in Palestine advocacy work,” he said in that 2018 blog post. “We need to organize at the legislative level to shift US policy toward one of justice and equality for Palestinians.”
Oh, and he also doesn’t believe Hamas uses human shields in order to deter retaliation from the Israel Defense Forces: “If Hamas was using human shields, wouldn’t the Palestinians say something about it?” he said.
“Surprise, surprise: apparently the IDF was guilty even as they tried to convince the world that the reason why they couldn’t stop massacring civilians was because of the use of human shields. This is disgusting… #FreePalestine #ICC4Israel”
Not the slightest taint of anti-Semitism in that Democrat party. No siree, Nancy.
Rep. Lee Zeldin, a New York Republican, probably put it best:

We concur. Not even a taint of anti-Semitism, Nancy? Please. Democrats may always pretend to care about the Jewish people or the people of Israel, but invitations like the one granted to Imam Omar Suleiman indicate where their sympathies lie.
