Oops: Actress Debuts Feminist Tattoo, Internet Instantly Howls in Laughter

It better be temporary – for her sake.

Emma Watson, the actress who made her first mark as a child star in the “Harry Potter” movies, has grown into a full-fledged harridan of the feminist left since her days at Hogwarts — bent on teaching the world a thing or two about women’s rights.

But as an apparently temporary tattoo Watson debuted for Sunday night’s overblown Oscars ceremony revealed, she could have learned a little punctuation along the way.

Pushing her bona fides as a spokewoman for the Time’s Up movement, Watson showed off the skin ink on her way to the Vanity Fair Oscar party, according to the BBC.

Unfortunately, there was a pretty glaring mistake that watered down the message.

The lovingly lettered “Time’s Up” on Watson’s arm read “Times Up” instead, which changed things considerably.

The “Time’s Up” movement (with the apostrophe), according to its website, aims to demonstrate that “The clock has run out on sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the workplace.”

“Times Up” (sans apostrophe) on the other hand, means … what?

Some Twitter users had a field day with the error.

To Watson’s credit, she acknowledged the mistake publicly – and also indicated the tattoo was only a temporary affair.

As Vanity Fair pointed out, Watson has a history of fake tattoos. But in this case, it was an especially wise decision, since – punctuation errors aside — the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements will soon be going the way of the “I’m With Her” slogans Hillary Clinton’s supporters were so proud of before Nov. 9, 2016.

Is Hollywood's hypocrisy showing when it comes to sex?
That isn’t to say the sudden, widespread denunciation of sexual harassment is a bad thing – while a Hillary Clinton presidency would have been disastrous – but Watson’s evident reluctance to make the movement a permanent part of her skin is a symbol of how fleeting liberal attention really is.

After all, Sunday’s Oscars might well have been the high-water mark of the “Time’s Up” movement against sexual exploitation. Even a camera-friendly veteran like Ryan Seacrest – former host of “American Idol” and “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” – had virtual pariah status on the red carpet outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

But that didn’t stop former NBA and one-time accused rapist Koby Bryant from receiving an Oscar inside for “Dear Basketball,” an animated movie based on a poem Bryant wrote.

The Bryant accusations stemmed from a 2003 incident in Colorado and brought their share of controversy to Bryant’s Oscar win, according to Fox News.

But Bryant is a liberal – a regular buddy of Barack Obama, according to Politico – like just about every man caught up in the hysteria of the sexual harassment scandals, beginning with legendary movie producer Harvey Weinstein.

Liberal memories get hazy when it comes to liberal crimes – just ask Meryl Streep about Roman Polanski.

The emotion of the moment might be with the Time’s Up, #MeToo crowd, but the history of Democrat politics – from JFK’s dalliances to Ted Kennedy’s killing to Bill Clinton’s serial, predatory philandery — is against the whole idea of holding liberal men accountable for sexual abuse of women.

It might not be as fleeting as Watson’s temporary tattoo, but it isn’t going to last.
