After Being Snubbed by Nashville, Kid Rock Lands New Gig for Christmas Parade

Share

For anyone who’s listened to him speak or heard his music, it should come as little surprise that Kid Rock has no problem saying what’s on his mind.

That was never more apparent than when he vulgarly attacked “The View” co-host Joy Behar during a segment on Fox News.

Warning: The video and tweet below contain explicit language.

“We can disagree and still be cordial with one another,” Rock said in the late November appearance. “And just talk about things without going for each other’s throats and protesting everything, and God forbid you say something a little bit wrong and you’re racist, homophobic, Islamophobic … this, that and the other.”

He then turned his ire to Behar, a frequent critic of both Kid Rock and virtually all things President Donald Trump-related.

“People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct, and I would say, ya know, love everybody … except, actually, screw that Joy Behar b—-,” he said.

To be fair, while Rock’s greater point about people needing to be “less politically correct” is spot on, his choice of words leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, Behar deserves to be criticized, but Rock did a disservice to his message with the language he used.

Behar is awful, but he crossed the line when he threw out the B-word.

Do you like Kid Rock?

Given that, it wasn’t shocking news that Kid Rock was promptly removed from performing at the Nashville Christmas parade and replaced as the grand marshal.

Well, it didn’t take long for him to find another gig.

As the Tennessean reported Friday, Kid Rock will be a special guest at the Leiper’s Fork Christmas Parade in Williamson County.

To the credit of the director of the parade, Laura Musgrave, she made it abundantly clear that this is a Christmas parade and politics should have nothing to do with it.

“He has some friends out here, and we’re wild and wacky, eclectic and fun,” Musgrave told the Tennessean. “This parade has never been about politics — it’s a Christmas parade.”

Aside from participating in the parade itself, specific details about what Rock will be doing have not been discussed. He will not be the grand marshal of this particular parade either, as that role has already been accepted by John Schneider of “Dukes of Hazzard” fame.

Actions have consequences, and Kid Rock, for his part, seems totally fine with the Nashville Christmas parade removing him. Rock apologized for his language but not his general sentiments toward Behar. Given her unhinged leftist nature, that is completely OK with me.

“Behar has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump and when Myself, Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent visited The White House last year, Behar called it ‘the saddest day in the history of the White House since the British burned it to the ground in 1814,'” Rock said in a statement to WTVF-TV.

“Today I said ‘Screw that Joy Behar b—-,'” the statement continued. “Mess with the bull, you get the horns. End of story.

“I apologized for cursing on live tv, I will not for my sentiment nor do I expect an apology from her or anyone else who has choice words for me or doesn’t like me. God Bless America.”
