Tucker Blasts Dems Over Blatant Election Hypocrisy with Instant Classic Quote

Share

Recall during the 2016 election when Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton strongly implied that Republican nominee Donald Trump would refuse to accept an electoral loss and would call the legitimacy of the entire electoral process into question, an absolute travesty for our “democracy.”

Of course, Trump won the election, and it has instead been Clinton and Democrats that have refused to accept their loss and have questioned the legitimacy of the election, accusing Trump of conspiring with Russia to steal the presidency away from the rightful winners — Democrats.

Fast-forward over the past two years of Democrats and the liberal media repeatedly questioning the legitimacy of an electoral process that allowed Trump to win, and now we find an entirely different chorus being sung by the same choir — it is incredibly un-American and unpatriotic to question the legitimacy of our nation’s elections.

That hypocritical duality from Democrats and their media allies was called out by Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday night, after he summed up the shady goings-on in Florida post-Election Day that had resulted in a state-wide recount for the governorship and Senate seat.

Do you agree that Democrats are hypocritical for their flipped stance on questioning electoral legitimacy?

“Just last week, as you’ll remember, Republicans Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis defeated Democrats Bill Nelson and Andrew Gillum in the Senate and gubernatorial races there,” said Carlson. “The results seemed to be conclusive at the time, they were reported on this and every other news channel on election night, last Tuesday.”

“And yet, just six days later, it is very possible that both those Democrats will win the seats, the ones that just the other day they had lost. How did that happen, exactly?” he continued.

“Well, thousands of new and uncounted ballots appeared in Florida, mostly in Democratic-leaning counties. Those ballots changed the results sufficiently to trigger a statewide recount,” Carlson explained. “The recount is underway right now — the process so far is not inspiring confidence in the system. President Trump has complained about it, as have plenty of other people.”

“But it turns out complaining about this is not allowed, so to restate the rules, in case you’ve forgotten, when a Republican wins an election, it is fine to question the legitimacy of the process,” said Carlson. “Democrats have been doing that since the very day Trump was elected two years ago, that is patriotic. It’s your duty.”

“But when the Democratic Party’s power is at stake, raising any question at all about the process, is wrong. Indeed it’s nothing less than the road to dictatorship,” he added.

Carlson played a clip of a CNN guest saying — and the hosts agreeing — that Trump was “undermining the legitimacy of our elections” by raising questions, which was a “hallmark” of an authoritarian dictator. Carlson snarked, “‘He’s authoritarian,’ screamed the authoritarians.”

He then played a clip of presumed next Speaker Nancy Pelosi telling a CBS reporter that Trump had engaged in election fraud and “suppression” of voters, an accusation Carlson noted was intentional and designed to stir up old racial animosities, which is “politically useful” for the left.

Carlson also discussed what was happening in Florida’s Broward County, particularly with regard to Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes, and noted that any criticism of her was deemed to be based solely upon her being a black woman — with an accompanying clip from MSNBC — as Democrats can’t help but play the gender and race cards at any given opportunity.

He also noted that despite the gains made by Democrats in the House and governorships across the nation, they still sought more power “by any means necessary” — such as arguing for the counting of illegal ballots cast by non-citizens — and proceeded to compare Democrats to “holy warriors” that believed they were locked in an “existential battle” of good vs. evil, which of course allows them to feel comfortable saying and doing whatever is required to achieve victory over their “immoral” enemies.

For the past two years, Democrats and their media mouthpieces made it abundantly clear that it was the height of patriotism to challenge and question election results as illegitimate, at least when the target of such criticisms were Trump and Republicans.

Now, however, that Trump and Republicans are similarly challenging and questioning the legitimacy of the elections in Florida, we are excoriated for doing so as it is wrong, the actions of a dictatorial authoritarian regime and flat out anti-democratic and anti-American. If only there were a way to countenance these widely divergent narratives … but alas, there is not, and this will simply go down as the latest example of blatant leftist hypocrisy.
