Watch: Christian Bale Slams Conservatives, Then Literally Thanks Satan for Helping Him

Share

Leftism has an astounding way of just ruining everything.

One of my favorite movies of all time is “The Dark Knight” due to its brilliant portrayal of the Joker as well as its fascinating exploration of anarchy and heroism within humans. But it will be a bit harder to fully enjoy the experience knowing what I now know of Christian Bale, who portrayed Bruce Wayne/Batman in that movie.

Bale, ever the typical Hollywood elitist, turned his Golden Globes acceptance speech into a political statement.

The 44-year-old actor had just won “Best Actor In a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” for his portrayal of former Vice President Dick Cheney in “Vice.”

That’s political enough as it is, but I can still have some shred of respect for political satire.

What I can never have any respect for is thanking Satan, and, bizarrely, that’s what Bale chose to do.

Bale said that he was selected to portray Cheney to be “absolutely charisma-free and reviled by everybody.”

“What do you think, Mitch McConnell next? That could be good couldn’t it?” Bale added in a completely unprompted and uncalled for attack on conservatives.

But while unbridled leftist hatred of conservatives is nothing new, most Hollywood accept their awards by thanking their co-workers on the movies, their families — sometimes they even thank God. (Just not as often as they thank Steven Spielberg, according to the Huffington Post.)

Bale had something different in mind.

“Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role,” Bale said, sickeningly.

Leftists might defend the remarks as a joke, but “The Church of Satan” certainly didn’t feel that way.

“Hail Christian! Hail Satan!” the group’s Twitter account remarked.

Absolutely disgusting.

Do you think Christian Bale was out of line?

As much as I love movies, Bale’s acceptance speech is a shining example of why I’m never interested in watching these award shows.

Few things, if any, are more unpleasant than watching self-aggrandizing Hollywood elitists bending over backwards to pat themselves on the back no matter how awful they may be.

And if they’re going to spend their acceptance speeches thanking Satan and slamming conservatives? I’d rather watch paint dry.
