Watch: Congresswoman Who Called Trump 'Motherf***er' Runs Away When Asked About It
New U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan, made a stir on Thursday — her first day in office — when she said of President Donald Trump, “We’re gonna go in and impeach the motherf—er.”
She used the expletive while speaking to a crowd organized by the liberal group Move On, the New York Post reported.
“And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Mama, look, you won. Bullies don’t win,’ and I said, ‘Baby, they don’t’ — because we’re gonna go in and impeach the motherf—er,” Tlaib said to raucous applause.
Of course the far left ate it up, and Tlaib used the approval to portray herself as fearless.
She refused to apologize for the vulgar remark and tweeted that she “will always speak truth to power,” adding the hashtag “unapologetically me.”

However, Tlaib was less cocky in person on Friday when she scampered away from reporters who asked her to comment on her remarks.
Video showed the congresswoman sidestepping reporters who asked if she stood by the comment.

“If you’re unapologetic about your comments, Congresswoman, why not talk to us?” one reporter called to her as she hurried away.
“Do you stand by your comments?” another asked.
Tlaib, with staffers on either side of her, refused to respond. Instead, she avoided the question and rushed down some stairs near the Capitol.
When she was sworn in this week, Tlaib joined fellow newcomer Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., as the first two Muslim women in Congress.
She has continued to restate that her goal is to get Trump impeached. She has said so publicly since at least March, when she wrote that she was running for Congress for just that reason.

In a Friday interview with Detroit’s WDIV-TV, Tlaib doubled down on her comment. She defended it as something that her grandmother would have said.
“I stand by impeaching the president of the United States,” Tlaib said. “I ran on that.”
“It’s probably exactly how my grandmother, if she was alive, would say it,” she declared.
“I am very passionate, and I grew up in an incredibly beautiful, urban community — the city of Detroit — born and raised,” Tlaib said. “We say colorful things in interesting ways, but I tell you, the president of the United States is my focus.”
If running on the promise of a Trump impeachment got her elected, it will be interesting to see how her time in Congress pans out.
Maybe she’ll have to learn how to defend her actions to reporters rather than running away.
