Western Journal Warned of US Islamist Camps Years Ago, Media Forced to Finally Agree After NM Discovery

Share

For the past several years, a number of conservatives and conservative media outlets — including this one — have been citing the warning of experts and investigators about the presence of armed Islamist militant camps inside the United States.

It was alleged, and in some cases proven, that the radical Islamists operating such camps were arming and training themselves in preparation for committing terrorist acts as part of the broader jihad against the West.

Unfortunately, those dire warnings largely fell on deaf ears among the left and the liberal media, who either ignored the warnings or openly scoffed dismissively at them, preferring instead to promote other narratives about Islam and other issues of far less danger and importance, like climate change, or President Trump’s tweeting habits.

Even more unfortunate is what it took for some in the media to finally acknowledge what outlets like this one have been hollering about for years — the discovery of an actual terrorist training camp in New Mexico in which young children were allegedly being trained to become future school shooters.

The above tweet is from one of those who’ve been sounding the alarm for some time, and he revealed in his thread of tweets just a handful of the known and documented cases of Islamist training camps in the U.S. that received minimal coverage from the mainstream media.

This newest case, according to Fox News, involved 39-year-old Siraj Wahhaj, who just so happens to be the son of infamous Brooklyn Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 terrorist bombing attack on the World Trade Center in New York City — he served as a character witness for the ultimately convicted “blind sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman — and currently heads the Masjid At-Taqwa Mosque.

The younger Wahhaj is alleged by court documents to have been conducting weapons training with at least some of the 11 children that were living in horrific conditions inside of the squalid camp, training that would later be utilized in the form of a terrorist shooting attack at a school by the children.

Do you suspect there are more terrorist training camps in the U.S. yet to be discovered?

Wahhaj was arrested along with another man and three women who lived at the compound with the 11 children, and all face charges of child abuse, with potentially other charges to be filed in the future as a continuing investigation unfolds.

Some of those future charges may be kidnapping and murder, as the compound was only discovered after a months-long search for a missing 3-year-old boy from Georgia — Wahhaj’s son, Abdul-ghani Wahhaj — who suffered from severe medical issues and went missing in December.

It is believed that Wahhaj had kidnapped his son from the child’s mother as he wanted to perform an “exorcism” and that the child didn’t really suffer from epilepsy, but was instead “possessed by the devil.”

The missing boy was not found alive at the compound after a police raid, but the as-yet unidentified remains of a small child were recovered from the property.

Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe described of the 11 children living at the makeshift compound in the northern New Mexico scrubland — aged 1 to 15 — as appearing “like third world country refugees, not only with no food or fresh water, but with no shoes, personal hygiene and basically dirty rags for clothing.”

Wahhaj himself was described as “heavily armed with an AR15 rifle, five loaded 30-round magazines, and four loaded pistols, including one in his pocket when he was taken down.”

This is a horrifyingly tragic story, and even as there are certainly more facts to emerge as an investigation continues, it is already quite obvious what was going on here … yet the media still is giving it barely any coverage and is largely attempting to whitewash the blatant radical Islamist angle and connections in this story.

We have been warning the nation for years about the presence of Islamist terror camps in America, to little or no avail, but we can’t say that we are necessarily pleased to have been vindicated in our dismissed warnings by this absolute horror. Sadly, we suspect this isn’t an isolated case, either.
