'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Shares Photo from Wife Beth's Hospital Bedside

Nothing is quite as stressful as dealing with the illness of a loved one, and that pressure only grows more intense as the sickness grows in severity.

In addition to the pressure of having to deal with hospitalization, one also must manage the existential anxiety of the possibility of losing someone you love. That’s a kind of worry that former A&E star Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman knows full well.

According to Heavy.com, recent years have wreaked havoc on the health of his wife, Beth Chapman. Fans of the couple have followed her struggle with cancer.

Beth developed a nagging cough in 2017. Physicians soon discovered that she had stage 2 throat cancer.

They removed a plum-sized tumor from her throat in an initial surgery. The growth had gotten so large that it had started impacting her ability to breathe.

Beth was initially declared free of cancer, USA Today reported. However, the dreaded illness returned in late 2018.

Even worse, it had metastasized, traveling to her lungs. She began treatment, but Hawaii News Now reported that Duane shared an alarming message on social media on June 23.

“Please say your prayers for Beth right now thank you love you,” he said.

The public would later learn that Beth had ended up in the ICU.

According to Hollywood Life, 51-year-old Beth had begun to experience pain while at home and needed oxygen. While at the hospital, she allegedly became agitated.

She attempted to remove various tubes providing hydration and nourishment. Sedation didn’t work, so medical personnel opted to place her in a medically induced coma.

On June 24, Duane shared a picture of his wife to Twitter — or at least a picture of part of her. The snap showed Beth’s hand.

In it, you can see a cannula and tubing delivering medicine to her bloodstream. A padded restraint also keeps her arms from flailing about.

However, something else stands out more plainly: Beth’s regally long nails are still painted and encrusted with rhinestones.

“You all know how she is about HER NAILS!!” Duane wrote as a caption.

Fans seemed heartened by the picture.

“Nails full of bling and her heart is full of bling! Bless you Beth!” one wrote.

Another added, “We pray for you guys!! By the way tell @MrsdogC her nails are on point as usual!!”
