Every Parent Knows Why Republicans Cannot Give In to the Democrat Shutdown Tantrum

Most Americans are probably more than ready for the federal government shutdown — now the longest in U.S history — to end.

But how it ends is very important. As any parent or anyone who has observed a two-year-old throwing a tantrum knows, if you give in to unrealistic demands now, it will be worse down the road.

That candy bar grabbed at the checkout line today will become many more in the days ahead if the child is screaming and stomping to get it. It is a power play, and parents must enforce their authority.
