New Gerber Baby Celebrates Second Birthday, See Adorable Photos

Share

Kids can be picky eaters, and that’s especially true for babies just learning how to chew. They spit out baby food and parents shovel it back in.

Finding food your little one will enjoy (and swallow) can be a challenge. From strained peas to mashed carrots, this feeding thing is all about trial and error.

Thankfully, there are companies like Gerber who have made it their mission to provide quality food products you’ll keep coming back to.

Since its small beginning with Dorothy Gerber in 1928, the Gerber baby food brand has grown to be one of the most recognizable brands around.

The iconic sketch of the baby face is one most people know. Gerber has earned its status, and why not?

It was the first baby food brand ever to be sold at grocery stores. Years have passed, but the company hasn’t forgotten where it began.

In more recent years, the company started holding contests to search for their newest baby spokesperson.

This honors the tradition of their first ever contest, held in 1931, when the original sketch of baby Ann Turner was chosen for the Gerber brand.

They’ve come a long way since then, and thousands of babies are entered into the Gerber Spokesbaby contest every year.

All babies are adorable, but in 2017 Gerber may have found the cutest little guy on the planet. Lucas Warren stole everyone’s hearts when he was named the 2018 Gerber Spokesbaby.

As the first ever Gerber Spokesbaby with Down syndrome, Lucas changed the contest game, opening doors for other babies who don’t quite fit the past mold.

Now Lucas is 2. To celebrate the occasion, he and his family were invited to Gerber Farms in Fremont, Michigan where a party was held in the Spokesbaby’s honor.

“We’re thrilled to have made the trip from Georgia to Michigan to celebrate Lucas‘ second birthday at Gerber’s farms,” his parents, Cortney and Jason Warren, said.

The celebration was held in classic Gerber fashion, complete with fresh produce, seed planting and a cake fit for a king.

“Our family is thankful to be a part of the Gerber family and Lucas’ second birthday party is a day we’ll cherish forever,” the Warrens shared.

What a sweet little boy. There’s no question as to why he was named the Spokesbaby of the year. He just keeps getting cuter!
