Paltrow: Brad Pitt Took Matters Into His Own Hands When Weinstein Hit on Me

Share

When it was revealed in late 2017 that Hollywood mogul, producer and Democrat financier Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexually assaulting and harassing a number of women — the total number has since grown to more than 60 women who allege such behavior — many people were shocked and outraged.

But it has also been suggested that, despite the claimed shock and outrage from many in the Hollywood and political communities, some were well aware of Weinstein’s behavior and either ignored it or covered it up in order to protect or advance their own careers.

But according to Fox News, actress Gwyneth Paltrow — who is one of Weinstein’s many accusers — recently revealed that not everybody was willing to grant a pass to Weinstein over his horrendous and potentially criminal behavior.

In fact, one famous actor is alleged to have even taken matters into his own hands on behalf of Paltrow to ensure such behavior never happened to her again.

That famous actor would be Brad Pitt, who dated and was engaged to Paltrow for a time during the 1990s, and she claimed that he personally confronted Weinstein at a movie premiere one night and threatened him after she had informed Pitt that Weinstein had made an unwanted pass at her.

Paltrow said that Pitt had told Weinstein, “‘If you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I’ll kill you.’ Or something like that.”

The surprising revelation from Paltrow came during an interview Wednesday with Howard Stern on his radio show, where she spoke at length about her experiences with Weinstein and what it took to speak out against the powerful Hollywood producer, among other topics.

Paltrow described how she was “blindsided” by the move Weinstein had made on her early in her career.

“We had one instance in a hotel room … where he made a pass at me,” stated Paltrow. “It was out of the blue and I’ll tell you, I had been having the most incredible experience at Miramax.”

Do you wish more men would have stood up to Harvey Weinstein?

She told Pitt, her boyfriend at the time, about what had happened. Pitt then confronted Weinstein face-to-face at the 1995 premiere of “Hamlet” on Broadway and made it clear in unmistakable terms that what had occurred would not take place a second time.

“It was like the equivalent of throwing him against the wall,” said Paltrow of what Pitt had done. “It was so fantastic because what he did was, he leveraged his fame and power to protect me at a time when I didn’t have fame or power yet.”

It would appear that Pitt’s actions had the desired effect, as Paltrow recalled, “Harvey was never inappropriate with me again. Ever.”

However, in line with Weinstein’s own use of fame and power to leverage control over others, there were still contentious moments between the two going forward.

“Power was his currency and he knew when to, you know, give you something and take it away,” Paltrow said. “I did put it behind me but … our professional relationship was pretty fraught at times.”

If Pitt really did what Paltrow has said — and there is little reason to assume otherwise — that is a pretty cool move on his part, and evidence that manliness and proper masculinity are still quite necessary to help protect the powerless in this day and age when progressive leftists seem to be doing all they can to neuter such masculinity among our society.

Perhaps if more men in Hollywood had “manned-up” against Weinstein over the years and similarly confronted him in regard to his despicable behavior, so many of the women he allegedly victimized might not have suffered at the hands of the powerful mogul who thought he was untouchable and could do whatever he wanted.
