Woman Opens Box & Completely Loses It When She Sees 8-Week-Old Puppy Inside

What’s the best Christmas present you ever remember getting? I’m not talking about the perfect piece of clothing or some awesome gadget.

Material stuff comes and goes. But a great gift is one that meets us where we are in life, fills in those parts of us that are missing.

For me, it was the arrival of my firstborn son just before my dad’s passing one December. That little life seemed almost designed to fill the hole my father would leave behind.

Other people also seem to think that companionship makes the best gift, and canine companionship at that. Just consider how movie star Hugh Jackman found the perfect pooch for his family in 2014.

You’d think that someone who The Richest claims has a net worth of more than $100 million would, you know, shop for a pricier pet. But Jackman didn’t go the pedigree route when it came to his newest dog, little Allegra Jackman.

Instead, he chose to rescue an animal that someone had turned over to a shelter. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, little Allegra soon happily joined French bulldog Dali as part of the Jackman clan.

Carol and Andrew Stonley from Long Eaton, Derbyshire, England, discovered a perfect pet of their own in a Lakeland Terrier that had been abandoned. Dubbed Judy, the dog had a medical condition that made her eyes quite literally bulge out of their sockets.

In fact, the disorder was so bad that Judy had already become blind, and a local shelter made the decision to surgically remove her nonfunctional eyes. But the fact that she was blind didn’t stop the Stonleys from making her theirs this December.

Have you ever received a pet for Christmas?

“When I heard she was blind and in a shelter, my heart melted, and I thought it would be lovely to help her,” Carol Stonley told the Derbyshire Times. “Then when we went to see her, I couldn’t help but fall in love.”

Indeed, love seemed to be the only thing on one woman’s mind when she got the gift of a new furbaby. According to a video posted on Rumble, a woman named Jessica was shocked when she opened the door of her home to find loved ones waiting for her with a large present.

The jig was up almost immediately. The suspiciously sized box had a cockeyed lid that looked as though it might fall off at any moment.

And immediately before Jessica opened the door, the puppy within burst out in a round of high-pitched yelps. “Is this a puppy?!” Jessica exclaimed as she stepped outside.

“Open it, open it!” her loved ones crowed. Yet even though the woman surely knew the contents of the box, her joy at finding the little blond dog within was anything but feigned.

Her hand went to her mouth as the puppy started scrabbling at the sides of the box. Not long after that, she started to sniffle.

Then as Jessica cradled the warm little body, the tears began to flow in earnest. Of course, not everyone would have such an exuberant reaction to a new dog.

For the right person, though, the gift of a puppy could be the perfect Christmas gift. It might even become a man or woman’s best friend.
