Chick-fil-A Worker Belts Out 'God Bless the USA' to Customers on Video

Share

Veterans Day comes but once a year, though every day ought to be a day in which we show gratitude for the men and women who serve and have served our country.

It appears one man who worked at Chick-fil-A in Overland Park, Kansas, back in 2015 feels exactly the same way.

Dontarius J. Young knows a little something about patriotism.

He’s loud and proud to be an American, and his killer voice would prompt the judges of “The Voice” to turn around any day.

On Veterans Day of that year, Young stood tall in honor of those who serve as he sang a show-stopping rendition of “God Bless the USA” in front of the entire restaurant.

Young’s performance was caught on film and soon went viral. Once you hear his voice, you won’t question the reason behind the insane amount of likes.

The video posted by Frances West on YouTube Nov. 11, 2015 has been viewed over 200,000 times.

That doesn’t even include all the places the video has been shared or shown.

According to The Chicken Wire, the video was first shared by West on Facebook and had 21 million views within a week of posting.

Mr. Young made every soul inside the Overland Park Chick-fil-A that day pause and listen.

This man can sing!

Young admitted he never expected his song to gain as much traction as it did. “Wow! I am truly overwhelmed!” he wrote on Facebook.

“I have always been very patriotic and have always loved to sing! The fact that God’s favor is being shown to me and in such an apparent way, literally leaves me speechless!”

“1,000,000 views!” he went on. “Thank you all so much! I’m so excited to see what is in store and I am very grateful to have been blessed with so many beautiful and loving people in my life! It’s only up from here, I still believe!!!”

Is it too late to get this guy in the lineup for the new season of “America’s Got Talent?” Surely Simon Cowell would make an exception for him.
