MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski: 'Democrats Could Get Some Traction' After Tragic Shootings

Share

Those on the left continue to make it crystal clear they’ll do anything to make sure President Donald Trump isn’t re-elected in 2020.

From Democratic presidential candidates to celebrity leftists to TV talk show personalities, they’ll stop at nothing to regain power and put one of their own in the White House.

Piling on is Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s low-rated “Morning Joe,” who spent Monday discussing gun control in reference to the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

“This is an issue that resonates with voters,” Brzezinski said, according to TheBlaze.

“It seems to me that this political issue could be something that the Democrats could get some traction on,” she continued.

If you’re inclined to observe somebody stretching on tiptoes for attention and higher ratings, get a load of this video:

Brzezinski explained that former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke‘s weekend comments about the two tragedies moved her. She claimed to relate to the Democratic presidential hopeful and El Paso native’s emotions.

“I really think he touched a chord in a way he never has in this campaign before because you could really feel the pain,” she told USA Today’s Susan Page, according to TheBlaze.

Brzezinski asserted the younger generation has endured an era of mass shootings, which is a valid point. But she loses credibility when saying O’Rourke and other Trump opponents should take advantage of the more than 30 killed and wounded by gunfire in Dayton and El Paso.

Never one to be confused with the brightest bulb in a chandelier, Brzezinski thought it might behoove “Morning Joe” to throw her television weight behind somebody who — hours after the mass shootings — started belly-aching about white supremacy, gun control and Trump dividing our nation.

While bemoaning the tragedies over the weekend, O’Rourke may have had “frustration” in his voice — as Brzezinksi believed — but we know what was in his brain: the spotlight and a spike in the polls surveying would-be voters in the 2020 election.

The talk show host and her colleagues are nothing if not opportunists. And O’Rourke gives opportunists a bad name.

Do you think Brzezinski's comments crossed the line?

Obviously, they’re incapable of seeing the hypocrisy of claiming that Trump is dividing Americans, which in itself is divisive language that divides us more. Who cares about the human element of an issue when we have a presidential election next year?

The manner in which Democrats have operated since January 20, 2017, remains the same: no sense in being introspective and looking in the mirror when you can blame the commander in chief and his supporters.

Traction? How somebody who acts ashamed of being white and immediately turns twin tragedies into a political debate has enough footing to gain traction is anyone’s guess. It defies physics.

Leave it to Brzezinski, who either hadn’t had her cup of Joe or perhaps drank too much caffeine. She and partner Joe Scarborough will say anything to boost their ratings and those of desperate Democratic candidates.
