NFL Linebacker Arrested for Allegedly Pointing Gun at Woman and Threatening To Kill Her

Share

Former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Blair Brown pointed a gun at a woman and threatened to kill her, according to the Jacksonville’s Sheriff’s Office.

Brown also was accused of pushing the woman to the ground, kicking her in the abdomen and punching her in the face after a verbal altercation April 28, according to the incident report released Thursday.

Names of the woman and a witness were redacted on the incident report, protected under Marsy’s Law. But Brown’s agent, Michael Boyer, said the woman was the player’s wife.

The 25-year-old Brown, a fifth-round draft pick from Ohio University in 2017, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence without injury Wednesday.

He turned himself in by flagging down a police car and telling the officer there was a warrant out for his arrest.

Brown was released from the Duval County Jail after his first appearance before a judge Thursday.

The Jaguars parted ways with Brown on May 9 — 11 days after the incident.

“I can say that Blair has fully cooperated with law enforcement and he is hopeful for this matter being resolved amicably,” Boyer said in a statement.

“Blair and his wife are very much united and are remaining strong for each other,” the agent said. “I ask that their privacy be respected as they focus on raising their young family.”

The woman told police she was having drinks with Brown at a bar when they got into an argument.

She said Brown left the bar without her, and when she arrived home he was packing her belongings.

The woman said she started to help pack when Brown pushed her, kicked her and punched her.

She said Brown removed two guns from a safe in the garage and later pointed one at her and threatened her.

A witness saw the woman leave the bedroom crying with blood on her mouth, police said, but did not see the physical altercation because it took place inside the couple’s bedroom.

The witness said Brown had a cut on his hand and reported hearing Brown say, “If you put your hands on me again, I’m going to punch you.”

The officer called to the scene observed a small red bruise on the woman’s left knee and a small scratch on her bottom lip, according to the report.
