Watch: Jordan Spieth Wows Masters Crowd with Wild Trick Shot That Seemingly Defies Physics
At the Masters’ annual Par-3 tournament on Wednesday, former Masters champion Jordan Spieth hit a shot that left everyone in amazement.
From a lie just on the banks of a pond, Spieth didn’t opt for the lob wedge.
Nope, he decided that the best, and most entertaining, route to the green would be to skip the ball over the water like you would a flat rock.

He hit a low burner that skipped five or six times over the surface of the pond, bounced up on to the green, and rolled down the slope to the flag. It landed about 10 feet from the cup.

As the old PGA marketing slogan goes, “These guys are good.”
Spieth is in the final group of the day, which was scheduled to tee off at 2 p.m. eastern. He’s playing with Paul Casey and Brooks Koepka.
The 2015 Masters winner has not had a great season. He’s missed three cuts in nine tournament appearances and hasn’t had a top 10. His best showing was a tie for 30th at the Valero Texas Open.
But this is the Masters, and Spieth has always been great at Augusta. In five years playing at Augusta National he was a win, two seconds, a third, and an 11th. Yes, he has never finished worse than 11th place at the Masters.
That track record would give anyone confidence.
“I don’t feel like there’s any added pressure this week,” Spieth told the Associated Press. “I feel kind of under the radar, which is really nice.”
“My expectations are high this week. I feel great about the state of my game right now,” he added. “I feel like my recent results aren’t a tell of where my game is actually at, and I feel I’ve made a lot of strides in the last couple days in the tee-to-green game. It’s just a matter of trust in the stuff that I’m working on, and I don’t feel like I have to play well.”
“I feel I’m on the rise right now. That’s just the way I feel,” Spieth said. “I don’t think I need results to prove anything otherwise. I know where my game is at and I know that good things are coming soon.”
Spieth is 25:1 odds to win the Masters, which is well down the list, according to Vegas Insider. Rory McIlroy at 8:1 is the odds-on favorite followed by Dustin Johnson (13:1), Justin Rose (14:1), Tiger Woods (14:1), Rickie Fowler (15:1), Jon Rahm (20:1), Justin Thomas (20:1) and Tommy Fleetwood (22:1).
