When Batteries Die on Woman's Wheelchair, Stranger Pushes Her Entire Way Home
Many of us say we’d be more than willing to help a stranger in need. But, when it comes right down to it, do we act when those opportunities face us head-on?
Do we offer to help the person at the grocery store who’s a few dollars short in change? Do we give up our seat in the crowded waiting area of the restaurant for the elderly man or the pregnant woman who is clearly struggling to stay standing?
Or, do we look the other way, pretending we don’t see what’s there in front of us? Do we allow those moments to pass us by, when we had every opportunity to make a difference in someone’s day?
A man by the name of Bilal Quintyne chose to step up and be that difference for someone. Rather than take the easy route and call for help, Quintyne took it upon himself to be that help.
And his simple act of kindness has gone viral. But he didn’t play the good Samaritan for likes and views and shares on social media.
No, Quintyne simply believes in doing the right thing. “When God calls you for help, you’re supposed to help. Period,” he says in a Facebook video.
What did Quintyne do that he felt so passionate about? He simply assisted a stranded woman in a broken down wheelchair.
Watch as he pushes her up the road and returns her home, safe and sound. Past cars and houses he pushes her, but Quintyne isn’t even taking all the credit.
“God’s Plan. God’s Work,” the caption on the video reads. “Her battery gave out and she didn’t [know] how she was getting home.”
“God blessed me with [an] able body. So WE pulled her home,” he writes, giving credit where it’s due.
“A mile or not I wouldn’t go home until she was home,” he ends. “Period.”
A kind man with a kind heart. He took a few minutes out of his day, but that time made a huge impact.
Will we be the impact when opportunity calls? Quintyne has certainly inspired this writer, along with many other viewers who have been touched by this heartwarming video.
