3-Week-Old Horse Acts Just Like Puppy in Video, Only Wants Cuddles from His Owner

Share

There are few things in this world that we find more adorable than baby animals. Kittens and puppies may be the most common, but just about every baby animal is cuter than the adult version.

That might not include some creatures like rabbits that are born hairless and looking like erasers, but once they get a coat and open their eyes, they’re ridiculously cute.

Cuteness is not reserved for the pint-sized critters, either. Plenty of large animals have endearing mini-me versions of themselves.

And like all young critters — and humans! — they’re spunky and have plenty of energy. They play hard, and then they nap hard.

Playing with a horse can be a dangerous endeavor. They weigh quite a bit more than a person, and can be a bit clumsy at times. Even the most gentle equines may step on your foot or bonk their head into yours.

But a baby horse is just about the right size to roughhouse with. They’re just like big puppies, after all — especially this young lad named Felix.

According to WildCreatures, this big baby had spent some time playing chase with his human friend, Dave. He had no fear of the man: only curiosity.

Felix snuffled Dave’s hair and leaned into him, investigating. His momma, Fling, watched from the background as Felix played with Dave.

Many horses are protective of their young, but this one is trusting — plus, there’s food nearby, and that always helps. Fling doesn’t seem too concerned as she whisks at flies with her tail and munches on hay.

The 3-week-old baby clearly thinks he’s a lap dog. He plops down in the middle of the hay his mom’s trying to eat and wiggles his way up to Dave for pets.

He gets into just the right spot for neck rubs and then collapses into the hay, soaking up every moment of Dave’s attention.

A dog even comes by, looks at them, and realizes he’s not going to get any attention. Foal trumps dog this time around: sorry friend.

No doubt Felix will grow up being full of character. Have you ever been around a foal this friendly?
