Bernie Plan to Let All Prisoners Vote Gets Approval from Whopping 15% of Americans

Share

The vast majority of Americans disagree with Sen. Bernie Sanders’ plan to give all prisoners, including rapists and terrorists, the right to vote.

According to a national poll from Business Insider, only 15% of Americans said that all prisoners should be able to vote in America’s elections regardless of their crime.

That puts the majority of Americans at odds with Sanders, the notoriously far-left socialist seeking the Democratic nomination.

During a CNN town hall on April 27, Sanders shocked everyone with one of his most heinous policy proposals yet.

“Does this mean that you would support enfranchising people like the Boston Marathon bomber, a convicted terrorist and murderer?” a woman in the audience asked the Vermont senator.

“Do you think that those convicted of sexual assault should have the opportunity to vote for politicians who could have a direct impact on women’s rights?”

Sanders confirmed that he believes prisoners should be able to vote because it’s a “slippery slope” to determine that some people shouldn’t vote simply because they’re convicted felons.

But Americans disagree with Sanders’ reasoning.

Would Trump win against Bernie Sanders 2020?

While 20 percent of those polled thought prisoners convicted of non-violent offenses should still be allowed to vote, the vast majority of Americans believe prisoners shouldn’t be able to vote in any capacity.

Democracy is a beautiful thing because law-abiding citizens are able to participate in the policy-making process by electing representatives and other government officials.

But it’s common sense that terrorists shouldn’t be able to elect the people who direct America’s foreign policy, and rapists shouldn’t be able to elect the people who make decisions on women’s rights.

President Donald Trump put it perfectly: “Let terrorists that are in prison vote? I don’t think so.”

Sanders’ position on felon voting rights is absurd on its face, and it’s good that Americans recognize that. But his supporters have yet to realize that most of his socialist policy proposals are almost as ridiculous.

Sanders and other left-wing politicians are usually able to shroud their bad policy proposals in confusing economic theories.

And Republicans are notoriously bad at explaining economics and other complicated issues to everyday Americans.

But unlike the typical Republican politician, Trump is great at communicating to everyday Americans and exposing the left’s ridiculous policies in a way that is easily understood by Americans.

If Sanders gets the nomination, Trump should easily demolish Sanders on each of his bad policy proposals, including letting terrorists and rapists vote.
