Brother's Gift During 'Father-Daughter Dance' Leaves Whole Room in Tears After Dad Dies Before Wedding

Imagine the heartbreak of losing your father to cancer before your wedding day.

Think of the pain and sorrow that would be mingled with joy on that day when the bride doesn’t have her father to walk her down the aisle and give her away.

Knowing how much his sister would be missing their father that day, Andrea Stocking’s brother wanted to do something special for her to honor his memory.



“We’re missing someone pretty important this evening that would be obviously here for the dance with his little girl,” said brother Nick Middleton.

He fought back tears talking about their father who passed away from pancreatic cancer earlier that year.

He then went on to talk about how their dad had danced with their older sister, Kristen, at her wedding to the song “Butterfly Kisses” years before his passing.

As a surprise to the bride, her brother recorded himself singing the meaningful song “for Andrea and for dad.”



Andrea was already in tears before her grandfather took her in his arms for the “father-daughter” dance.

Watching Andrea dance first with her grandfather, then her brothers, and lastly her new father-in-law in the video uploaded to YouTube in 2012, you can see how deeply she misses her father and how much the other men in her family love and care for her.

The touching video quickly went viral, racking up millions of views.

Stocking spoke to TODAY in 2013 about her viral fame. “All of America, apparently, loves to watch me cry.”
