Kavanaugh Accuser's Lawyer Has a Not-So-Hidden Connection to George Soros

Share

If you still have any friends who think the drama surrounding the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is not politically motivated, please share this story with them. This may change their minds.

OK, so we can give the benefit of the doubt and muse that maybe Democrats just wanted to be thorough when they requested thousands of pages of documents relating to Kavanaugh’s career during the Bush administration.

And maybe Sen. Cory Booker was just grandstanding and mugging for cameras to boost a possible 2020 presidential run when he threatened to unleash information about Kavanaugh that was already cleared by the GOP for release.

And maybe Sen. Dianne Feinstein really did want to protect the identity of the woman who claimed to be sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh when they were both in high school by not coming forward until months later after receiving a letter from her.

However, if none of those incidents gave you pause to stop and think that the controversy surrounding this Supreme Court nominee was politically motivated, add this to the list and see if it doesn’t change your mind.

Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, is represented by an attorney with ties to liberal political activist George Soros.

Debra Katz is the founding partner of Katz, Marshall & Banks LLP, where she practices in Washington.

Her bio lists her as “recognized as ‘Civil Rights Lawyer of the Year’ for Washington, D.C. by The Best Lawyers© In America for 2018.” It also says she’s been named an “expert in sexual harassment, employment, and whistleblower law” by The New York Times, The Washington Post and Time magazine.

But she’s also a hard-working political activist. You just have to look slightly below the surface to see that she is working with organizations that funnel money into leftist agendas paid for by Soros.

Do you believe the attacks against Judge Kavanaugh are politically motivated?

The Washington Times connected some dots and found that a political advocacy group formed in June was promising to funnel $5 million into the effort to stop Kavanaugh’s confirmation. That group received donations that trailed through other funds that led to Soros.

“The group, Demand Justice, established in 2018, gets its money from the Sixteen Thirty Fund — and the Sixteen Thirty Fund received roughly $2.2 million from the Open Society Policy Center, one of Soros’ outlets, between the years of 2012 and 2016.”

And the Open Society Policy Center has directly funded the Project on Government Oversight — whose vice chairwoman is none other than Debra Katz.

POGO claims to be a “nonpartisan independent watchdog that investigates and exposes waste, corruption, abuse of power, and when the government fails to serve the public or silences those who report wrongdoing.

“We champion reforms to achieve a more effective, ethical, and accountable federal government that safeguards constitutional principles.”

I just don’t remember George Soros ever being a champion of constitutional principles.

Townhall characterized Katz’s background as “a long history of dismissing sexual assault allegations against liberal politicians, donating to left-wing causes, and even publicly demonizing all Trump advisors as ‘miscreants’ who are worse than deplorables.”

It certainly looks like there is more to the current state of affairs regarding the Kavanaugh hearings than just vetting a Supreme Court jurist. As the tentacles spread out, they reach farther and farther to the left, seeming to embrace more liberal activists and their agendas.
