Based on Personal Note Kim Sent Trump, It's Safe To Say He Respects POTUS

President Donald Trump held a monumental summit in Singapore on June 12 with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to address the consequential issues of denuclearization, normalized relations and potentially even peace and eventual unification on the Korean peninsula … issues deemed far out of reach to the past several administrations.

Trump and Kim ended what appeared to be a friendly and productive meeting by jointly signing an agreement to continue discussions about the subjects in question, and seemed to take a step forward toward peace between our nations and the East Asian region.

Of course, the anti-Trump liberal media has sought to downplay the significance of the historical summit at every turn, and have published a number of sharply critical articles since then — typically citing anonymous sources — which allege that North Korea is cheating on the agreement and have no intentions of fulfilling their end of the deal to denuclearize the peninsula.

Likely in response to those pessimistic media reports, Trump shared a letter he recently received from Kim that he said shows “great progress being made.”

That letter, which referred to Trump multiple times as “Your Excellency” and was dated July 6, stated in part that the Singapore summit was “the start of a meaningful journey” involving our two nations.

“I deeply appreciate the energetic and extraordinary efforts made by Your Excellency Mr. President for the improvement of relations between the two countries and the faithful implementation of the joint statement,” Kim wrote.

“I firmly believe that the strong will, sincere efforts and unique approach of myself and Your Excellency Mr. President aimed at opening up a new future between the (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) and the U.S. will surely come to fruition,” the letter continued.

“Wishing that the invariable trust and confidence in Your Excellency Mr. President will be further strengthened in the future process of taking practical actions, I extend my conviction that the epochal progress in promoting DPRK-U.S. relations will bring our next meeting forward,” Kim concluded in the brief letter.

Are you optimistic that Trump will succeed in achieving a denuclearized peace with North Korea?

The letter from Kim would appear to indicate that he holds a great deal of respect for Trump and remains committed to the agreement they reached in Singapore on moving forward toward denuclearization and normalized relations between our two nations.

Of course, some of Trump’s haters on the left and in the liberal media criticized the letter as being fake or little more than flowery words to flatter Trump’s ego, and noted the date of the letter proved it was written prior to Kim allegedly refusing to meet with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on a recent trip to the region.

Trump was also criticized by his legion of detractors for sharing the personal letter on social media … but then again, they criticize him for simply breathing, so take those critiques for what they are worth.

To be sure, skepticism of North Korea’s true intentions and Kim’s commitment to the agreement are quite fair given that nation’s prior history of failing to live up to their end of previous agreements reached with previous administrations.

Without any concrete and verifiable positive actions on the part of North Korea and Kim in conjunction with the agreement and this letter, it is little more than a collection of nice words that hold no real value.

That said, Trump is the first U.S. president to have even gotten this far with regard to peace talks with a leader of North Korea, and he and his administration appear to remain confident that all will be well going forward.

Obviously it remains to be seen if North Korea will follow through on their promises or not, in which case Trump will be compelled to withdraw the carrot he has offered and resume his threats of using the big stick — the U.S. military — to prevent North Korea from posing any further threats to our homeland or our allies in the region.
