Dem Bigwigs Are Launching a Coordinated Strike on the Supreme Court, Electoral College & Constitution

Just days before Barack Obama was elected president in 2008, he made a pledge to his supporters that sounded alarm bells with conservatives everywhere: He wanted to “transform” the country into something very different from what it was.

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America,” he declared to cheering fans with less than a week to go before the election. He wasn’t alone. A few months earlier, soon-to-be first lady Michelle Obama said something very similar.

“(W)e’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation,” she insisted in May of 2008.

For the next eight years, the Obama administration pushed to do just that, although in many ways it was unsuccessful.

Now that Donald Trump is president, however, liberals haven’t given up on that “fundamentally transform America” promise. They’ve just shifted gears — and the biggest push to change the fabric of our nation as we know it is happening right now in 2019.

There are currently two major plans underway by the left to essentially do an end-around play to bypass the Constitution and tear down the principles and institutions that have defined the United States for centuries.

Their two-pronged plan is simple but alarming: Stack the Supreme Court with liberal judges, and render the Electoral College moot by pushing a national popular vote.

If you think this is some sort of conspiracy theory, think again. Key Democrats are now openly endorsing both of those plans, and moving rapidly to re-direct the path of America.

First, the Supreme Court. Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution makes it clear that the president is the one who appoints judges to the highest court. That president, of course, is Donald Trump — but liberals are throwing a political hissy fit that he was able to name two such judges so far.

Would ending the Electoral College and stacking the Supreme Court "fundamentally transform" the United States?

Four Democrats who are running for president in 2020 have now joined forces for a common goal: Revamping the Supreme Court to fill it with left-leaning judges, mostly out of spite against conservatives.

Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Kamala Harris of California and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York have all declared that they were willing to pack the Supreme Court by adding liberal new justices, according to a report from Politico.

“The surprising openness from White House hopefuls along with other prominent Senate Democrats to making sweeping changes — from adding seats to the high court to imposing term limits on judges and more — comes as the party is eager to chip away at the GOP’s growing advantage in the courts,” Politico explained.

A fourth Democratic hopeful, former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke, is also adding his voice to the chorus of liberals who want to stack the deck toward the left.

“What if there were five justices selected by Democrats, five justices selected by Republicans and those 10 then pick five more justices independent of those who picked the first 10,” he suggested at a campaign stop in Iowa, according to The Hill, seemingly just pulling those numbers out of thin air. “I think that’s an idea we should explore.”

It’s safe to say that this half-baked plan — which is outlined nowhere in the Constitution — would be a major transformation of the way the high court is run. And it seems to be based on liberal frustration more than calm consideration of what’s best for America.

“I think they [Republicans] stole a Supreme Court seat,” New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in an interview that aired Monday, clearly still bitter that Justice Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the high court.

Meanwhile, Harris made it clear that the left wants to use nearly any means necessary to get its way on the Supreme Court.

“We are on the verge of a crisis of confidence in the Supreme Court,” she told to Politico. That “crisis” is apparently that the court doesn’t vote the way liberals want.

“We have to take this challenge head-on, and everything is on the table to do that,” she said.

But Democrats aren’t stopping there. There’s also an active effort by liberals to sidestep the Constitution and make the Electoral College a thing of the past.

Dozens of states have so far joined that movement, in which electors promise to cast their legally-binding vote for whoever wins the national popular vote, even if every voter in their own state disagreed.

This would be one more step away from a republic, away from the balance of power, and toward the “tyranny of the majority” the Founders wrote a Constitution to prevent.

It’s also essentially a “trick” to bypass the Constitution without changing it, but nobody on the left seems to care.

They’re too busy finding every loophole possible to cling to power, instead of playing fair.
