Irate, Foul-Mouthed Woman Arrested & Charged with Assault for Attacking Man in MAGA Hat Out to Dinner

Share

Wearing a MAGA hat in public can sometimes be dangerous, as we’ve seen over the past couple of months. On Cape Cod, it ended up with one man getting attacked for merely wearing it out to dinner.

According to CapeCod.com, 41-year-old Rosaine Santos of East Falmouth, Massachusetts, was arrested and charged with assault at the Casa Vallarta restaurant in Falmouth last Friday.

Police reports say the man was first verbally assaulted by the woman, then hit over the head. When they asked her why she was harassing the diner, Bryton Turner, she said that wearing a MAGA cap limited the kind of establishments you could enter.

“I asked Rosaine why she was behaving badly in the manner and she stated that Bryton was a (expletive) for supporting Trump. She also stated that he shouldn’t be allowed in a Mexican restaurant with that hat,” a police report by Falmouth Police Officer Newton Cardoso reads.

A video posted by Turner to his Facebook page shows some of the confrontation including Santos ripping the hat off of Turner’s head.

“This is the problem — ignorant people like this,” Turner can be heard saying.

“I’m just trying to sit here and eat a nice meal. You see this? People like that, that’s the problem. That’s the problem with America these days. People this ignorant, who want to lash out on people who are educated.”

As for Santos — well, if you can figure out what she’s saying, aside from the four letter words, it’s probably not worth all that much anyhow.

Now, you also may not be surprised to learn that Santos was allegedly three sheets to the wind, as well.

Do you think this woman should have been charged with a crime?

“While speaking with Rosaine I detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage,” Officer Cardoso wrote in his report. He also noted that she had bloodshot and glassy eyes, exhibited slurred speech and had a difficult time getting into the police cruiser.

At the station, the report notes, Santos “kept yelling profanities at me giving me the middle finger. Officer Elvira Ferrer was able to calm her down and finish booking.”

While intoxication might provide somewhat of a motive beyond just Trump hatred, in Budweiser veritas, as they say. And it isn’t as if this is the first time we’ve seen someone with a MAGA hat having it ripped off at an eatery.

Why, it was just last July that we dealt with the case of Kino Jimenez, who was charged with theft after he was allegedly caught on video snatching a 16-year-old boy’s MAGA hat off his head at a Texas Whataburger and then threw a drink in his face. He ended up getting charged with theft.

You don’t even have to be in an eatery for this to happen. Take the case of Edith Macias, the University of California Riverside student who ended up pleading to petty theft after she stole a fellow student’s MAGA hat off his head.

At least in these cases, there have been real-life consequences to something that these individuals likely thought was a lark — when they were thinking at all. After all, this is what actress Alyssa Milano tweeted in the wake of the Covington Catholic kerfuffle:

This may be an extreme opinion, but just how extreme? How many people really believe this? After all, in Jimenez’s case, the media reported he said something entirely similar. People now really believe they’re staring Klansmen in the face — and this is how they want to deal with the situation. You don’t even need a hat. You just need to be a conservative. Take the Turning Point USA member who was allegedly attacked at Berkeley earlier this week.

WARNING: Video contains violence and explicit language.

And where’s the news on this? We have video in all of these situations, but there’s utter silence. Yet, until everyone started realizing how problematic his story was, the Jussie Smollett attack was plastered all over the news as an example of Where We Are In America Right Now™. Yet, in almost every circumstance, we see that it’s the left that’s violent — not the right. These are people who believe you can’t go out to dinner if you’re wearing a MAGA hat. This is authoritarianism and statism at its finest.

Unfortunately for these hat-snatchers, the law still stipulates that you can’t take people’s property or assault them, no matter how much you disagree with them. In Santos’ case, she’s being charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery — all because she apparently thought it was perfectly acceptable to assault someone based on the hat they were wearing. That’s not the worst part, though. The worst part is that there are more than a few people who agree with her.
