Jaw-Dropping Video Catches ABC Panelists Fantasizing About Trump's Funeral During Bush Memorial
I’ve long been consistent in my belief that joking about the death of a president is always off-limits.
I don’t care if it’s former President Barack Obama or President Donald Trump, musing about their prospective deaths is despicable and has no place in this country.
Suffice to say, it takes a certain level of dastardliness to joke about a president’s death.
It takes an entirely new low to joke about the current president’s death while covering a former president’s funeral.
ABC News has hit that new low.
In a now-viral video segment covering former President George H.W. Bush’s funeral, ABC News correspondents Terry Moran and Devin Dwyer thought that would be the most appropriate time to crack some tasteless and unfunny jokes about a future Trump funeral.
Moran kicked off the sad attempt at humor by discussing how Trump’s funeral would be different from Bush’s.
“Probably a different tone in that funeral. First, he’s going to choreograph it, so there might be more trumpets and fanfare,” Moran cracked.
“Yes, he would do it bigger, one would imagine,” Dwyer said.
Moran then took a mocking tone while referencing Trump’s propensity for calling things “the best.”
“It’d be the best presidential funeral ever,” he said. “No one will have ever seen anything like that funeral.”
Tired jokes aside, it takes a truly abominable level of unawareness to make these types of comments during another man’s funeral, let alone a former president’s.
The comments were rightly condemned by anyone with a shred of a conscience.
“To mock him during the coverage of the president’s funeral is just despicable garbage,” Media Research Center vice president Dan Gainor told Fox News. “I would say ABC News should apologize, but it wouldn’t be sincere if it did. This is about the billionth example of unprofessional journalism in their attacks on Trump. It’s only more outrageous because of the solemn occasion.”
The condemnation on social media was swift as well.

“It’s in bad taste to joke about any of our current leaders’ future passing,” comedian Tim Young told Fox News. “But what this highlights again is the media outrage double standard where you can say basically anything you want about a Republican and get away with it.”
Young also wondered about the outrage that would’ve taken place had the jokes been made about Obama instead of Trump under similar circumstances. He hit the nail on the head there as well, as the leftist double standard when things involve Obama and Trump is well-documented.
Of note, ABC News has not commented publicly on that train wreck of a segment.
Silence can speak volumes, and ABC News’ refusal to comment makes it abundantly clear how they feel about Trump.
