Socialism: Kamala Announces Annual $6,000 Per Family Wealth Redistribution Plan

Share

Democratic Sen.  Kamala Harris not being shy about her socialist vision with an outrageous new “tax plan” that would give many families a check from the government for $6,000 every year.

Harris, whom many suspect will run for president in 2020, announced her ridiculous tax program, the LIFT (Livable Incomes for Families Today) the Middle Class Act, in a statement released by her office.

Families who make under $100,000 annually would be eligible for generous refundable tax credits under her program. The “tax credits” would be redeemable as monthly checks.

Families would be eligible to receive up to $500 per month and individuals would be eligible to receive up to $250 per month.

Of course, Harris failed to explain how much the program would cost, but it’s obviously not cheap. The Atlantic estimated that the plan could cost $200 billion a year.

Harris attempted to justify her plan by ignoring the success of President Donald Trump’s economic policy and claiming wages are stagnant.

“Americans are working harder than ever but stagnant wages mean they can’t keep up with cost of living increases,” Harris said.

Is Harris trying to bribe voters?

It’s true that Americans are working hard. Under Trump, unemployment is reaching its lowest point in decades.

However, it’s less true that wages are stagnant. Wages have been steadily rising under Trump.

Worker pay grew 2.9 percent in the past year, the fastest its grown since the recession of 2009, according to The Hill. Wages are naturally growing without the need for legislation and companies are taking it upon themselves to increase wages. Most recently, Amazon announced a $15 minimum wage.

However, these facts won’t stop Democrats from attacking Trump and the booming economy he’s created.

Some on Twitter seemed to support Harris’ Utopian vision.

“I’d rather pay higher taxes and have people in my community taken care of than exist in the current draconian system,” one user wrote.

What’s “draconian” about historically low unemployment and rising wages?

On the contrary, I find ludicrously high taxes to be “draconian.”

The bill is a pointless endeavor anyway. It will be dead-on-arrival in Congress, where Republicans control both chambers — and Kamala Harris certainly knows that. Even after the midterm elections, should the Democrats take the House, there’s little chance the Senate would even vote on it, less chance they’d pass it, and no chance at all that President Donald Trump would sign it.

Therefore, this “plan” is not a serious bill. It’s more likely a strategy to bribe voters in the run up to her probable 2020 presidential campaign.
