Trump Rakes in 'Jaw-Dropping' Amount of Donations Less Than 24 Hours After Re-Election Launch
On Tuesday night, President Donald Trump took Orlando, Florida, by storm, filling up the Amway Center — which seats 20,000 — with MAGA supporters who were excited to witness him announce his intention to seek re-election in 2020.
Trump has a lot going for him that will provide an advantage over any Democratic challengers, including the fact that he’s an economically successful incumbent president.
Not only that, but Trump proved last time around that he doesn’t struggle to raise big money for his campaign war chest.
And this time is no different. In fact, it’s even more remarkable, if you can imagine.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted the encouraging news for Trump and his supporters Wednesday and announced how much money POTUS raised within 24 hours of launching his 2020 election campaign.
“@realDonaldTrump has raised a record breaking $24.8M in less than 24 hours for his re-election. The enthusiasm across the country for this President is unmatched and unlike anything we’ve ever seen! #trump2020 #KeepAmericaGreat,” she wrote.

The president enthusiastically thanked McDaniels for the good news shortly after her tweet.

A number as large as that one, raised in under 24 hours, is more than just record-breaking news. It means all Democratic challengers — comprising a large field of candidates — have an awful lot of work to do.
Even worse for them is the fact they’re all essentially fighting for dollars from the same people. So, that means a larger spread on where big-money Democratic donors are throwing their cash.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, upon his announcement to run for the White House in April, fell far short in comparison to Trump’s numbers. It’s almost embarrassing, given Trump’s news.
According to Politico, if McDaniels’ timing on Trump’s fundraising number points to funds raised within the first 24 hours of his announcement, the total nearly quadruples Biden’s $6.3 million raised on his first day. It’s not even close.
And if I were Biden, let alone any other Democratic candidate, I’d be tossing and turning more at night, wondering how in the world one hopes to get close to Trump’s resources — let alone match or beat them.
It wasn’t long ago that the liberal mainstream media touted Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ ability to raise money on his first day. He pulled in $5.9 million. Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke nailed down $6.1 million, and Sen. Kamala Harris came in at $1.5 million.
Even combining the total of what those four candidates raised doesn’t equal what Trump managed to pull down on his first day.
If the electricity and excitement from American voters continues to work in Trump’s favor, it’s obvious that money will be the least of his worries when it comes to campaigning for the Oval Office.
